    I'm interested in Halo 3 (I replied to that thread), Rock Band (part of Da Jackal's crew), TF2 (360), GTA 4, and warfish (www.warfish.net).

    Warfish is a web/email risk like game that already has a tournament system in place. It'd be easy to set up.

    I think the Rockband Tourney should be teams of two.. One guitarist and a drummer. If this happens i have a guitarist i can get and i play drums.

    I'm in for Halo 3 and possibly Rockband (if a certain crew needs a bass player), but I can't do anything until after Aug 15th because of an insane summer class schedule.

    There aren't enough people to fullfill all positions and i think that the drums and guitar are the most played positions.

    i guarantee my humming will beat your singing. and that is why vocal competition is a bad idea. besides, rock band vocals are kinda retarded, some of the notes are way off, and sometimes it has you singing parts that i frankly can't even hear.

    You can change the individual volumes.

    That's exactly my point, sir. It's just as much a valid gaming skill to be able to get 100% on expert vocals (yes, even on Sabotage), just as much as the other instruments. I can understand the argument of not enough people use the mic to compete, but I can't stand by whilst someone calls one of my favorite game mechanics (and just about the only one I consider myself a true master of) retarded. No sir, that will not fly. :|

    Sorry for the slow update. I've also got this whole pax pc thing that's taking up more and more of my time. ;)

    Does anyone know how to do team vs. team in Rock Band? I tried it with Ghrog earlier today, and we didn't see a way to do it. Then again, I spent most of my time getting my ass whooped, and he spent most his time whooping my ass. ;)

    One thing that you could try, if Band VS. Band is an option, is post the scores from the entire band on a seperate thread or website. If you need a verification, check the scores on rockband.com when you search for a specific band, the most recent song or group of songs should come up along with the scores... Another option would be overall high score on any instrament where you could pick your score and/or difficulty and just try to get the best score possible... :)

    ..Except you could lie and have people that are amazing at rockband that arent attending PAX play... and then this tournament serves no purpose because it is for PAX goers....

    Sorry, Pat!

    I'm going to basically keep updating names although it's obvious most of these won't make it as tournaments. The hope, however, is that people who are interested in particular games can get together with other forum members who are also interested in particular games, and ya'll can play together and have awesome good times. =)

    Also, there's a ton of interest in TF2...any ideas on how to run a contest without trying to get all tournamenty about it? We're not going to get enough names for a real team based tournament, keeping in mind we'll have a good number of no-shows as a fact of online life...

    I'm in for CSS hopefully a few more can jump into that seeing how there is no css this year at PAX and I didn't know I'd want to do byoc until reading these forums :(

    I'm in for any other games that need a few more ppl to make them tournament worthy too, TF2, CoH, Starcraft, anything! Figured I'd at least contribute a body :D

    Now that I think about it, playing TF2 with ya'll would be rather fun. Now, I'm a total noob at TF2, I played it twice, the orange box was all about half life and portal for me, but sign me up for the TF2 tourney.

    If the Rock Band one doesn't work out, or even if it does, we can probably do a quick Guitar Hero 3 one. That'd be certainly easier than trying to work something out with TF2. Anyone have any idea for a way we could simply do that in one night?

    If we could get it done in one night similar to the Halo3 bit, there's no reason we shouldn't be able to throw that together. But I don't know of a way to do it.

    I guess we could do some lame ass ghetto thing where we just pick three songs and have people take pictures of their scores....there's gotta be a better answer.
