SO, I have a Dell XPS 1530 with an nvidia 8600MGT (that fualty GPU line) and wanted to know which tools are most reliable when measuring the temperature
I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter as the bit that fails isn't the the GPU but some other interconnect/other chip, and it's the thermal cycling, rather than the temperature which does it. If someone else knows what's really up It'd be interesting to hear.
nVidia usually has a temp sensor you can access through the control center.
