Am I really the only one that thought that the ending of The Journey
with Minato dying and all
was pretty obvious?
It was obvious as hell, but it still - weirdly - was one of the heaviest game endings I've ever watched. I'd gotten too attached to all the SEES members, I think.

bad endings
are bullshit!
sad =/= bad thanks
Yes, these are spoilers of P3, do not read.
Id consider it bad since he died, that still pisses me off and I consider it bad. I just hate playing a game where the main guy youve been playing as dies at the end, its bullshit.

Well, to be fair, it's not THAT obvious.
I mean, given the scenes, you could also walk away thinking he's alive as well. He's lying in the hot sun, gets drowsy, and the last image is of Aegis smiling. Nothing about that screamed to me "Dude's dead". The ending is just ambiguous enough that, if The Answer didn't come along and pick a side, then both options are perfectly valid.
Of course, I assumed he died too, but not because of the Memento Mori bit (which I'll admit, is a pretty big clue). No, after getting far enough into the game, I began noticing things from the opening video. Specifically, how the main character wasn't in any of the shots, and it was Aegis in the top spot. Which would mean that either you could switch him out (unlikely, since he's the mute hero and all), or Aegis becomes the new main, and... yeah...
Basically my own perceptivness spoiled some of the plot for me. But at least it wasn't the real juicy bits.

Thing is, it's not a bad ending for Main in the slightest. Over the course of the year he's found the meaning to life and fulfilled his destiny and all that jazz; thanks to Shinji cheering for him in the final battle, you and he know that death is not the end. I'd actually consider it a happy ending for Main. The SMT games as a whole have a fairly relaxed view of death - Digital Devil Saga is a good example of this, where
everyone in your party dies and then just start chilling out on the sun before getting to the final few fights.
Aegis and the rest of SEES get completely fucked over by it, though.

Dont make me show you why we post these spoilers again.
But I must prevail. I WILL prevail
Do prevail or youll be horribly disappointed. You MUST prevail!
Edit: I believe in you.

Someone that devoted to the SMT community couldn't possibly be that petty.
Er, I should probably work on that new OP soon. I'll make a post if it comes into being.
