Okay guys so I just found out that I really like singing songs that I can sing.
And by that I mean songs that are in my range.
Things like Oasis, Radiohead, and the Who all fit nicely into my range. Some RHCP stuff too (like Under the Bridge).
I want advice - what songs should I try that have similar ranges to those songs? I can hit pretty much anything in the game, but I hate it that I have to use falsetto for most of it. It's so satisfying to be able to sing a song in its natural register.
I also like to sing mellow ballads along the lines of Don't Look Back in Anger and Behind Blue Eyes. Are there other ballads out there that I should give a try?
EDIT: Oh, just noticed your message HylianBunny. Sorry! Must have missed the message somehow. I think I've missed two of your messages now. :P
Have you tried some Foos? They are easy songs to sing. And February Stars and Walking After You might interest you for ballads.
TRU has buy one get one half off on accessories today and part of tomorrow. You can also take advantage of it online. Singing up for TRU Rewards program (it's free) gets you free shipping apparently.
Thanks. Is this available in-store or online only? It suggests online but it isn't explicit about it. Anybody else know of any deals for MS points?
Both. The only other deal would be live cashback which isn't that great considering eBay sellers tend to charge more than retail for them. You could always stake out auctions, but they have to be BIN items to take advantage of it.
Thanks Shady. I'll go to a local TRU and check it out.
And Smug Duckling: Have you tried tightening your diaphragm to reach higher notes whilst singing? It usually helps me.

Hm, I could try that. Though to be honest low notes are as much of (or more of) a problem than high notes. My voice just bottoms out pretty fast. The intro to Sex Type Thing is nearly as low as I can go.

Can't offer much more than that, sorry. My range is essentially Baritone/Bass and it's a big struggle to match most singing anyway... I end up just faking it and making some appropriately pitched noise. But then, I also don't do too well at Expert level. Maybe somebody else can help.
Oh hey, can you make those new Live avatar things now? I haven't been on a 360 in a few days so i haven't noticed. I thought the new dashboard was early next week? Or have I just not been paying attention at all.
Look, I understand and appreciate what the Dead Kennedys did for music. I get it. I would play and enjoy their music if it didn't sound like someone snuck into the studio before pressing and replaced every vocals track with Surfin' Bird and added a bunch of guitar noise over every song.
Uploading those requested songs minus "Tangled Up in Blue" because the sun started to really beam into my room despite the blinds being shut so I'll wait until it gets dark to record it.
EDIT: ahahah the Screaming for Vengeance song is so hilarious even to me
Hmm maybe those Mad Catz cymbal packs aren't coming out in Canada or something... nobody has them in stock and EBGames doesn't even have a date on when they might get them. Has anybody in Canada seen them?
I guess I can just wait until I get the ION, but I would have liked to try them out for a while (cause who knows how long it'll be until ION makes the PS3 drums).

I'm kinda interested as well.
If they took a Guitar Hero III challenge approach, they could throw in something from Japan's own Yngwie Malmsteen clone Norifumi Shima:

Also, I wholehearted add my voice to the need for Texas Flood, I wants it so bad.
~ Buckaroo Banzai
and an amazing live version

Thanks though!

Also, can't say enough good things about these bonus tracks. Much better than the selection from the first game.

You can also add me: RDreamer. I'm on quite a bit and usually up for some Rock Bandin'
I would have preferred All These Things That Ive Done instead of Smile Like You Mean it, but still cant complain that much.

REFS REFS REFS REFS REFS REFS REFS REFS

Once again there's a difference between exclusive and "exclusive."
If you can find a way so that incoming sunbeams don't make it so hard to see the tv after I record, I'm willing to take suggestions.
Although I do like that term. I might steal it.
Blackout curtains. An Army-Navy store might have them or know where you might be able to find some.
But for anyone wondering, the set-up on drums looks bad ass. 2 of those bass drum things.
But even MTV only has the 2-pack of Mad Catz cymbals
I'd have traded Smile Like You Mean it:
Especially for "For Reasons Unknown. It's sucks a kick ass tune.
YES
I like Smile Like You Mean It though. It's like February Stars on The Colour and the Shape. Sometimes a relaxing, easy song is just what I need.
