are you talking about serenity or just the last episodes of the show? serenity may not have been what some people wanted, but the last episode of firefly is totally rad
I'm not saying Serenity was bad
I'm talking about Wash being dead.
Firefly was great, and now Wash is dead, and that's terrible
i thought we were rating on a badness scale and not a sadness scale
That depends. Dying during a grandiose swordfight with old-school pirates would be bad-ass, but he got shot in the back by shitty modern pirates who stole a couple of watches and an outboard motor.
having just watched the final episode of battlestar galactica and been subsequently filled with an unquenchable rage at the fact that they actually ended like they did, I began to think of other good things that have ended badly
Glad to see you're still an idiot. :^:
I honestly can't comprehend how anyone could have thought that a good finale
like, I'm legitimately curious
I guess it worked on a thematic level but, in terms of the shows own set bounds of realism it really didn't hold up
The characters all conclude in a consistent and emotionally compelling manner
It had a fan-fic premise, but the actual content and execution of it was still quality.
Like you said, thematically it jived with the rest of the show.
I'm trying to comprehend why some think it was absolute tripe. I can understand being disappointed, but it's not like the characters all did 180's or highfived to "The Final Countdown"

basically from a scientific standpoint there is no way that they would be able to plop down there with no technology and survive
also, the fact that there are other humans makes the whole Hera thing entirely useless, which was the primary thing for like the entire fourth season almost
I agree the ending sucked. Not even starting the argument about how overrated the movie is.
They ran out of makeup for Dafoe. What would you have done?
I've heard a lot of shit talked about Boondock Saints, for various reasons, and I'll admit that it's flawed (though I personally enjoy it)
but I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone say it was great except for the ending
me and others who like it just seem to take the whole thing in stride
Thats because everyone falls in one of two groups its
a. the greatest movie ever
b. overrated
the ending thing is just my thought because they turned a weird british style crime comedy (like lock stock or something) and ruined it by shoving some social bullshit down the audiences throat. Thats just my thought.
Mission Hill was killed off when only 6 episodes were aired on WB. Only 13 were ever finished and they were on Adult Swim and such for a while. Now on DvD...
The show was way ahead of its time with the first animated gay male kiss in the pilot.
Huh? Karl kissed Homer in The Simpsons' 15th episode, Simpson and Delilah, back in 1990. Unless you mean a kiss between two gay characters. If you just meant two animated dudes kissing, not even close.

what
the whole movie is social bullshit
and easily ignored because that's not what makes it awesome

It was made fairly clear that Hera became mitochondrial Eve and therefore mother of the entire human race as we know it.
Also I don't think they really clarified whether or not they just hucked all of their technology into the sun, or how many supplies they kept around.
When it comes down to it, I'm much more satisfied that we got to spend time with each of the characters as they adjusted and met their fates rather than spending a lot of time detailing specifics about the survival of the human race.
The last track on the Protomen record is a big disappointment
I pretty much stop listening after Sons of Fate
DAMMIT PIPE
It's true, Fari
Due Vendetta isn't a bad song but putting it right after the fucking huge musical robotgasm that is Sons of Fate was a poor move
I always think of the second to last track as the end of the movie, and the last track is what plays when the credits roll
Ok, late as hell, but this. This right here.
I've exposed more people than I can count to The Protomen, and everyone says the same thing about Due Vendetta.
I've always treated that song as pretty much a bonus track. It's obvious it doesn't quite fit in with the whole rock-opera story line they had going on, but goddamn if that song isn't entertaining as hell.
Side note, second album apparently in the works? Maybe? God I hope so.
the boondock saints was dogshit in pretty much every conceivable way
wrong
what a fag

I enjoyed the Boondock Saints the first time I watched it
On subsequent viewings, the flaws were increasingly apparent
And then I saw that documentary about the guy who made it and how he was a complete cock to everyone and squandered all the success he was handed and basically whizzed it all right down his leg

I mean, it's not like we don't know they survive
