Keeping her from going to the doctor and having her seek out OTC medication for it and do stupid stuff like change her wardrobe etc. If my memory serves.
Yes well, her mother has been a rather serious impediment in her getting proper treatment.
Hopefully this will no longer be the case.
They will both end up in the hospital and her mother will later end up in jail. "Hopefully this will no longer be the case" just seems like a weightless thing to say when two people are harboring a low-level biohazard which has harrowing mortality rates even when not comorbid but in a hospital setting. Without care, it's just ... it's too scary to think about.
And I'm not sure if all MRSA infections fall under this, or even any, but there are modern-day infections for which refusing treatment or failing to seek treatment is a federal offense in the United States

Well, seeing as I don't really have a clue on what MRSA is I'll take you word for it.
Let's hope Hakks takes some serious, immediate action then.

What the hell?
No, a better emoticon: :x
Also, does anyone else pronounce "emoticon" as "eh-moh-shuh-cohn"?
Also my supervisor is an idiot, she criticized my sending out a message to drum up interest for the tabletop roleplaying game by telling me that I should just schedule it and hold the event. Just throw up a date and a time, because that's how these things work.

MRSA is methicillin resistant stapholococcus aureus.
essentially a staph infection that is resistant to treatment.
very widespread in hospitals due to the 'clean' environment.
It's a Nikon D40. Entry-grade Nikon SLR, one of the cheapest you can get. Simple but dependable. To be fair, it has some flaws(no internal autofocus motor, for one), but it's a solid camera and I'd recommend it if you just want to dip your toes into the SLR world or don't have the cash for a bigger better one.
However, you can easily get cameras its equal from Canon, or Pentax, or any other big brands. There aren't exactly a lot of BAD cameras made anymore. So try a few out and find one that works in your hands. I use Nikon primarily because I like the control system more than Canon's, not because I necessarily like their results better than a Canon. Things get murkier when you look at high-end or specialized focuses and functionality, or recent innovations, but the basics are solid for both the big boys.
Okay, looking over the specs, it looks like it does everything I want. The ISO is a little different from what you can get with film (I have no experience with digital photography), but the sensor is good enough and it will record in RAW. I'm not sure autofocus is something I need or want, I prefer to do that myself anyway.
Basically I'm looking for a cheap DSLR after having only used film and that looks like a good candidate.
To dig this up, autofocus is pretty useful. Most modern lenses have the motors built in, but older lenses(very cheap, very good) or classics like the 50mm 1.8 don't. This could either be a small problem(landscapes, planned portraits, still life), or a bloody huge one(impromptu shots, sports shots, anything where you can't predict where someone will be).
Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus
Produces many antigens
resistant to every antibiotic but vancomycin derivatives
the worst thing next to VRSA if you are immunocompromised
if not immunocompromised it can still be an issue but it is treatable
usually presents noscomially, where mortality even with full supportive care is like 8%
outside of a hospital environment, you essentially just roll the dice every day and whenever the mrsa wins the roll and outcompetes local flora you move nearer sepsis and death

I really really really can't believe her mother did this. That is so inexcusable, that she would obstruct diagnosis and treatment of something that turned out to be this serious.

I would pay excellent, excellent money to see Hakkes's parents imprisoned.
EDIT: Well that's just a fucking beautiful TotP, isn't it.
Sometimes, if I wear dress pants and walk too much I can get little red marks on the insides of my thighs, but they go away within two days or so and I imagine it's just irritation from friction or something.

I just ordered chinese food but I fucked up what I was saying. I hope she understood me correcting myself.
I mess this up sometimes but in the worst-case scenarios when they actually mess it up the only way that they ever mess it up is by sending me both what I said before I corrected myself and afterwards
and I mean sure it costs a few extra bucks but it is hard to get angry.
I would say about 90% of people who are 'finacially dependent' on their parents don't have to be if they don't want to.
True, but as I understand it she's not really at a place where she would be comfortable mentally/financially/etc to move out.
Also I'm sure her folks would fight it tooth and nail.
mentally: well that is dependent on you
financially: get a job, stop posting on internet forums.
etc: depends.
I sent my mom an email the first week of college saying essentially "I'm not listening to you any more go fuck yourself" she was mad for maybe 3 months but now we have a great relationship and 3 months of no contact freshman year was the best 'bandaid pull' i can ever think of.
you just have to be ok with being an ass sometimes.

She is in college. She is also financially dependent on her parents.
Her parents also attempt to rule every aspect of her life with a vice like grip and attempt to curb her freedoms at every turn.
will return later to shout at you
FUCK YEAH FIGHT THE MAN!
That is quite possible.
Boo, the whole final was written on paper.
My hand hurts now.

methicilin resistant staph infection, yeah
it's mutant staph that is immune to most common antibiotics and an awful lot of the less common ones
and it's evolving more resistences
don't fuck around with that shit

Everything on your camera should be worked by hand!
You should bleed for your photos!
