I've loved Google Chrome since it hit the interwebs and it's finally starting to come into it's own with extensions. https://chrome.google.com/extensions

Hmm. I see there is already an Ad blocker. Now just give me extensions like Greasemonkey and Stylish (looks like a Stylish-clone is in beta) and I'll be a permanent convert.

Boo, extensions don't work with the Mac beta yet.

Still pretty cool to finally be able to use this.

Now all Chrome needs to do is support SSL with client certificates.

I really do dig the browser, but being unable to visit pretty much all of the strongly-authenticated web sites we have at work is a deal breaker.

I've switched recently too, but two things bother me (as I could do them in Firefox which I've been using for quite some time).

    1. Typing in the address bar, if mulpitle entries pop up, I cannot tab to them(instead I have to use the arrows).

    2. Find doesnt stay up when you switch pages

    Anyway around these?

I log in to gmail, and everything loads up fine except logging in to the AIM sidebar hangs. It eventually logs in and then this message pops up:

"Some Gmail features have failed to load due to an Internet connectivity problem. If this problem persists, try reloading the page, using the older version, or using basic HTML mode. Learn More."

And my gmail link starts with https.

What beta? This isn't for the browser, it's for the extensions. if you want the browser go here: http://www.google.com/chrome

Then go to the link in the first post to get some extensions.

I have this same exact problem. :/ My net connection is fine, so I can't really think of anything that I can do to fix this. I'm using the GMail notifier extension, but I wouldn't think it would interfere with GMail working.

Chrome has some weird problems with SSL. I think their implementation just isn't that good right now.

If you do some google hunting, reasons could be proxies or software firewalls interfering.

Wow, I might actually use this as my browser now.

There's even an Xmarks plugin for it. When did that happen?

Does anyone know if there's a way to get the icons for the plugins off of the toolbar?

The Xmarks extension was out a couple of months ago, not long after extensions support was put in. Also, the extension icons on the toolbar can't be removed unless you dig around in the extension's code. It's much better to the toolstrip they used to have, though.

Cross-posting a list of extensions I like from the H/A thread (I think some have been mentioned here anyway):
    • Google Quick Scroll - once you click on a Google result, it'll have a little window on the bottom-right allowing you to skip directly to your search terms on the page
    • Gmail Checker
    • IE Tab - same as in Firefox, really, you click on it and it shows the page in a kind of embedded IE window
    • SmoothScroll
    • Docs PDF/PowerPoint Viewer - automatically pulls up PDFs, PPTs and the like in Google Docs
    • RSS Subscription Extension - detects feeds, previews them in a new tab and lets you subscribe (should be a built-in feature by now)

I know with smoothscroll I had to refresh each of my tabs after I installed it before it would work on that page.. I know you don't have to, but try restarting chrome, or at least refreshing the page you are looking at before trying it? =P
