What is House of Leaves, anyway? I keep hearing about it.
It's supposedly a book reminiscent of creepy internet stories like the Dionaea House and Ted the Caver. I'm a huuuge fan of creepy internet stories, so it's something I've always want to look out. The premise is a family moves into a house bigger on the inside than the outside, and shit gets freakier from there I guess.

Just finished Memoirs of a Geisha and now I am attempting to re-read the Artemis Fowl series
noooooooooooooo, don't do this
I say this as someone who still owns all six books, and misplaced the Files
man i obsessed so hard over that series as a kid, though
i know it wont hold up 100% but i never finished the last two and fuuuuck i hate when that happens
I know the feeling
seriously, reading The Lost Colony and The Time Paradox will just make you sadder than not reading them
I already had a sinking feeling about the series since The Opal Deception
oh, and he's making a seventh book
but, the first two books still hold up decently, and the third isn't that bad

I found the semi-lucid bits about the house and the labyrinth very unsettling, quite creepy in a way that's hard to put a finger on. There is a lot of other crap in the book though that I didn't find very entertaining and the whacked out formatting can get pretty irritating. Also makes you look completely insane if you're reading it in public.

now i have to choose between my intense curiosity and my intense desire to not fuck up my childhood memories any more than the internet already has

Read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. It's great young-adult lit without being stupid.

I have an issue. I'm nearly finished with quicksilver, but apparently there are two additional books after that that are also probably like 900 pages long. If I read those I'll probably be doing that all summer, but if I stop and take a break I know I'll have fuckall of an idea about what's going on once I get back (If I ever do) because that's what happened to me approximately 5 times while reading through the wheel of time series.

My friend is working on a roguelike game you can play if you want to. (It has free demo)

Read the others, you giant vagina. They're awesome. Also, the ending of the last book is one of the most satisfying ones I've read.

Up next is Musicophilia, and then probably the Omnivore's Dilemma
It does happen to have one really depressing story, though.

It's entertaining and makes me really wish I could just set fire to everything I own and go squat in an abandoned farm house in the mountains.

As a kid? I remember those books being big when I was in High School.
