Is it too late to get into Halo 3 multi sutff with you PA guys? I just got a elite bundle with Forza 3 and ODST. I saw the multi disk in the pack but have not tried it yet. I havn't played any halo multi since some lan parties when Halo 2 was new and the thing at the time.
People in this thread still play pretty regularly and I believe H3 is still the second or third most played game on Live (I'm actually not sure if it ever has been lower than top 3).
The firefight trailer also shows the new covenant grenade gun. It looks like it's the brute shot replacement. I actually had to rewind and watch it again to make sure it wasn't the brute shot.
He toggles Squad 1, and each one has a sub descrip:
Grunts ( More Grunts than you can handle. Well..)
Elites Heavy (Elites who won't turn down a good explosion)
Elites (Elites, with nobody to drag them down)
Elite Grunts (Elites with Grunt cannon fodder)
Elite Infantry (Elites supported by Jackals)
Elite Skirmish (Elites supported by Skirmishers)
Elite Airborne (Elite airborne troops)
Elite Spec Ops (The most feared Elite ground troops)
Elite Generals (The Elites that command respect from other Elites)
Elite Strike Team (An Elite strike team led by a general)
I'm really glad that they're allowing you to customize Firefight's skulls because, seriously... Black Eye was fucking bullshit. Sooooo not fun.
I like Black Eye. It's the only skull that really changes how you play. Tilt comes close because it makes you think about weapons more... but with headshots, the main human weapons are still good. With Black Eye on, Enemies are more dangerous, but it forces you to go out and melee them on occasion.
obviously not all the options.
It's possible that you can't send anything but grunts or elites in the first wave.
Edit: BTW the "Cloud" skull hides your motion sensor.
Custom skulls are going to be awesome. Imagine something like... enemies are nearly blind + deaf, but they do 500% damage and are immune to assassinations.

Is Firefight going to come with matchmaking? That would be totally awsome with forged playlists.
I'm guessing you can't play firefight on forged maps?
Firefight will have matchmaking. Matchmaking has it's own set of rules, so you probably won't be able to set up your own custom rules, then use matchmaking to find people to play with. They do use community maps in matchmaking, so it's possible that a popular set of rules could make it in.
You couldn't forge ODST's firefight maps, but the way that they have presented the Reach stuff, I'm assuming you can forge them. This hasn't been confirmed as far as I know.
Random question, did they ever change the (not sure what I should call it) origin point? It was always kind jarring to see a guy fire a steam of needles from his faceplate.

I think faces still shoot bullets.
This was true, and still will be true for Reach. It's a design decision, and Bungie has acknowledged it.

They decided that faces shooting bullets is good game design? What?

I believe the correct nomenclature is Focus Rifle.
We're talking about the gun that replaces the Covenant Sniper right?
The one that spawns on top of the cement stairs near the flag base in Powerhouse?

Yes, sorry. We were calling it the microwave gun for too long.

I think that alone would do wonders for helping the duration problem ODST firefight had.

So any ideas how Luck will affect the AI? Dodging maybe?

Well Touch Luck was higher dodging so, I think that's right.

Reach Firefight has matchmaking.
We have no idea of how powerful or flexible Forge is in this game yet.
And those Hunters... Those are REAL Hunters.
Have to pick up the legendary edition of Reach, it's the last in the Chief's series after all.

Well, when it had tidbits for the 'upcoming halo reach beta' and 'how to download halo 2 dlc', it needs a bit of changes here and there.
