Problem with my toe things was that I let it go way, way too long before getting it fixed so it was hells of infected and also they had to dig through most of my toe to get it out so afterwards was a couple days of an inordinate amount of pain. I got hydrocodone but it kept wearing off and maan. I'm glad that is the worst I've had health problem wise. Real surgery would probably be a bitch.

Hi there, bad decisions friend! I did the same thing. Holy fucking hell did it hurt like a mother when they were rooting around and yanking it out. The best thing was they gave me like 2 more shots of the numbing stuff than usual. And then, due to a high metabolism according to the nurse, that shit wore off half way through. Once he got the nail off (it wasn't far from being an actual half fucking circle) he dug into the meat of my toe with what was literally a sharp stick to get the worst of the infected tissue out. Then I had to wait in agony at the pharmacy to get some pain pills. Which would wear off hours before I could take another one.

I'm surprised you didn't get an infection from it. Holy crap!

One time I slipped sideways and the tip of a (thankfully) unusued toothpick broke off inside the side of my heel... I didn't know it, though. A few days goes by and it gets really infected.

I go to squeeze it a little and the tip of this damn toothpick shoots out on to the floor followed by about two tablespoons of pus.

I had a piece of glass stuck in my heel for over a month. I was at our pool and stepped on some glass from a broken bottle near the basketball courts. I got it cleaned up by the onsite staff and rode home on my bike. It healed up fine but the dull pain whenever I put pressure on my heel never went away. One day I was grinding my heel on the floor to see why it was still hurting when I felt something hard under the skin. I got out the scalpel, my pocket knife and a needle and proceeded to pick away at the skin until I revealed an inch long sliver of glass that had been up there the whole time.

I've had something similar happen to me before. Glass can be really obnoxious.

And pocket knives are so freaking useful. I rarely go anywhere without one.

I once bit a wart off that was on the heel of my palm. Left a dime-sized hole but boy was that satisfying.

One more thing that pisses me off about flying. People can bring corkscrews, knitting needles, pens, etc. on planes, but a tiny 1 1/2" blade? Nope, gotta leave it at home, that thing's dangerous.

They take your knitting needles away. I've been forced to knit on pencils.

Yeah it's a pain. I also don't always carry one with me when I go into D.C. for museums and stuff because some places still have metal detectors.

I know they're not good for everything, but bamboo/wood? Also, I wonder how they'd show up if you put them in your carry-on.

I've been traveling wig bamboo/wood crochet and knitting apparatus for years without problem

Now, if I forget I left tweezers in my bathroom stuff then off with my head, but nothing about knitting needles

Vaccination day in basic training was awesome.

You sit in a chair while two nurses simultaneously give you about 6 shots in various parts of your arms.

I never regretted not keeping track of my vaccinations more than at that point in my life. Also, the measles vaccination fucking BURNS!

Wait. The TSA has banned tweezers of all things on flights?

What are you going to do with tweezers?

Man detained by the FBI after an emergency landing in Phoenix on a flight from LAX to BWI.

The man was charged with excessive flatulence and is being questioned about his dietary intake 24 hours prior to the flight. The man's stomach was pumped and is awaiting arraignment pending examination. No one has claimed responsibility for the alleged attack though preliminary investigaions point to Al-Qaeda in Yemen.

The most secure plane is one that doesn't exist. The solution to terrorism on planes is quantum mechanics.
