Gosh Zen we just talked about this last page gosh

    (yes)

Toaster, there was a really good Thor run recently (that ended poorly because it was canceled, but it was still good), if you want good avengers stuff, New Avengers (which is not anyone on this team except for captain america at first) is wonderful.

    um

Classic Iron Man stories like demon in a bottle are good.

From that same film magazine I mentioned earlier
There will be a montage of Cap and his team going on missions and fuckin' up Nazis, including a scene in which they rappel down a cliff face onto the back of a speeding Nazi train

Well X-Men is pretty good right now. There's a big collected volume called Nation X that would set you up with the current status quo. If you wanted to get just a great X-Men story, get Astonishing X-Men by Joss Whedon.

Captain America has been written by Ed Brubaker for about 60-70 issues at this point and has been fantastic. All of it is collected, and there is an omnibus of the first 30ish issues.

Thor got a relaunch two or three years ago, which was amazing, It's all collected. Start with Thor vol. 1 by J. Michael Stracynski.

Iron Man has been written by Matt Fraction since the first movie came out and is very much in the vein of movie Iron Man. Check out The Invincible Iron Man, it has an omnibus just like Captain America.

    Hope this helps!

Oh and if you are interested in Green Lantern, start with Green Lantern: Rebirth and work your way through Geoff John's run.

Most comics are collected in numbered volumes so it's pretty easy to keep it straight.

I would rather read X-men: First Class by Jeff Parker than anything that ties into the morass of continuity that is the X-men franchise

Astonishing X-men has little to do with continuity in terms of it being confusing. There is one issue where you kind of need to know about Genosha but they explain it.

X-Men: First Class is amazing, yes.

But most people who want to get into comics want to read the real characters, which is cool! I actually really like the whole Utopia thing.

kick ass was okay, but kinda inconsistent i guess

i mean, it's about REALITY but halfway through the idea isn't as endearing so in an act of self awareness (or self aware humor) it just switches into NO REALITY WHATSOEVER

That's not saying much. The movie sucked balls. It's flow was uncomfortable, the dialog was weak, and the acting was shit. Nicolas Cage was the best actor in the movie and I fucking hate Nicolas Cage.

    wait Morrison didn't write Astonishing.

I've only read Whedon's run, not Ellis's, but goddamn it was good. SO GOOD. And he writes Cyclops the right way

The end of the "Unstoppable" storyline in the Breakworld was just... fuck.
