The Sentinel of Liberty! The Star-Spangled Avenger!
Posts
(watchmen does not count)
edit: also by "good" I am of course exerting personal bias.
the avengers is all about them going and getting drunk at a bar
uh
uh
the phantom!
is there something really obvious I'm forgetting, or
what is this post
how many period Superhero films besides Watchmen have we had
anything less than 8 is usually shit
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
i was just writing down me not thinking of any
but then I accidentally clicked post before I could write that, and I was too lazy to edit it.
I just think it's going to be really hard to sell
fuuuck I'm old
That's not how a scale of 10 works at all
So there is that
Though Wolverine Origins is pretty bad so to hell with it
the phantom
the shadow
dick tracy (technically)
edit: The Phantom took place in modern times, he's just a period character.
I
what?
You are using a 1-10 scale
but you only consider 8 9 and 10 good
are you retarded
"Ultimate Fury's look" is Samuel L. Jackson. They based his face off of Sam Jackson's before he was ever cast for the role.
Yeah I know that
Which is why it works so well for the movie
You don't need to go "who has the look for this character" because you already know who
It's been years since I read it, so I can't point out any specifics, but I remember not being happy with the series in general, and that particular issue with the big fight was what made me quit. I'd have to look at it again to give any real reasons why I hated it so much.
It's worth noting that to date, Superman: Red Son is the only comic I've read by Mark Millar that I actually liked.

The rest... ehh.
This excites me. I am a fan of the Howling Commandos
Old Man Logan is completely ridiculous fun bullshit
So...
yeah
Kiss me, Ghost
I've heard good things about 1985, but I can't bring myself to read it because I've been so turned off to Millar over the years.
I've also heard good things about Old Man Logan, but I am not a big fan of Wolverine in general, and I actually read a bit of Millar's take on Wolverine when he took over the regular series from Greg Rucka a few years back and I hated it, so...

I mean, yes he has written some very bad things, Kick-Ass and Wanted and Nemesis are awful awful awful
but Red Son and 1985 are fantastic and Ultimates and his UXM run are pretty good popcorn movie comics
I'd say a 50/50 track record is a lot better than a good deal of writers right now
You can categorically go through his work and ask yourself 'does this involve previously owned characters?"
And if the answer is yes then you read it. If the answer is no then you do not.
I may have to start reading some comic books
1985 is far more Red Son than it is Wanted, its dark in places but not stupidly so, it's whimsical overall and doesn't take itself seriously and the ending is great, if a mite schlocky
Old Man Logan didn't entirely do it for me, but it's not terrible by any means
I consider Red Son to be his only decent work.
Apart from that I haven't read a Millar comic I didn't dislike intensely. I even hated Old Man Logan, despite the pretty artwork.
Yeah, I know this is the general "rule" but I was just pointing out that I can't even stand him when he's writing pillar Marvel/DC properties.
The credit he had with me just from reading Red Son was enough for me to give him a chance for like 3 or 4 years afterward, and he has consistently left me disappointed, if not angry at my spent money.
e: Solar gets me
