This has me mad excited! The three comics I cherished the most as a wee kid were tintin, Calvin and hobbes, and little nemo. I also had a soft spot for Asterix when I could find them. Huzzah!

I used to constantly get Tintin and Asterix books out at the local library

This film would appear to feature, dare I say it, something of a dream team

Moffat did an interview recently, he was too busy with doctor who to contribute any significant amount, and apparently very very little of what he wrote made it into the script at all. His name being on the poster and in the credits is just a formality at this point.

Yeah we knew Wright and Cornish were flown in as script doctors. I actually thought it would be harder to rejig the script for an animated movie like this because post is like a year long but turns out reshoots are really fucking easy when you're in a blue room wearing a leotard.

The characters will look the same but he'll introduce new technology, like "What is the animal version of an iPad?”

I'm glad he is taking a fresh new direction with the humor

but Wright and Cornish are both really fantastic writers

    so

also MacFarlene's Flintstones could be good if he sticks with an American Dad style sitcom instead of awful cut-away gags

I think Family Guy has had at least three poorly placed Flintstones reference and parodies.

I hope the entire Flintstones is just a parody of the original show to the point it gets played out. So about an episode

I saw very little of Tintin when I was a kid, and that cartoon was on Nickelodeon.

But what I saw was awesome, and so I am optimistic about this movie until I see something discouraging.

Also that screenshot on page 1 is definitely uncanny valley.

You can't really be right or wrong about something that is entirely in the eye of the beholder, but if a few people have already agreed on this point, then it is probably a reasonable opinion, if not a popular one.

I gotta admit Tintin's face on the poster does seem slightly unsettling (As opposed to the comforting, cartoonish look of the Thompsons and kleptomaniac dude). I know it's not all that easy to make a reasoned judgement what with it being in shadows but browsing through the rest of promotional images I'm starting to hope this is not the main reason it keeps getting covered up.

Well I don't believe it looks nearly as cartoonish as the strip/Tv show did

Their eyes and mouths have such an incredible amount of detail it seems almost real

I for one am awfully pumped about this but would've probably prefered it had they stuck to something more in the lines of: http://i51.tinypic.com/2w37qwy.png
