did they ever make content and quests for the Klingons?
I'm not sure if it was there from day one nor not but there is a PvE storyline that involves fighting the Klingon's demons, the Fek'Ihri.
EDIT: There's a Borg Invasion of Deferia tonight at 7PM-EST and 3AM-EST for those who want to take part. It allows you to pick up special materials that let you craft special items only found there.
Sorry for the double-post but I wanted to remind everyone that the F2P officially kicks off tomorrow. Also, a site known as Massively is doing some sort of special online party for it both in-game and live-stream, starting at 1PM-EST. I wouldn't bother mentioning it except that they plan to give away a total of 8000 STO-only Cryptic Points between the start of the event and it's end at 8PM-EST. Not a bad deal if you can win some, especially since you can get a lot of Dilithium for a small amount of C-Points on the Dilithium Exchange.
EDIT: I love some of the results you get from the Duty Officer assignments.

Hmm, I might have to look into that. Was thinking about starting the dl when I went home at lunch.
I liked this game until Cryptic totally fucked up the contest for people to design the new Enterprise. There were some actually really good ones and then Cryptic chose a winner that no one liked and then didn't even use his design in the first place.

Wait, really? HAH
Cryptic are awful at the Star Trek part of this Star Trek MMO
As an aside to all PA peeps, I have a couple low level characters Federation side. That's the only side you'll get access to at first, so let me know if you want someone to run around and fly spaceships with, I'm more than happy to teach you the basics, both about the game and the lore.
So, this game is pretty fun, it turns out. I have played entirely too much in the last week, and now I have a Fleet Escort, the absolute ugliest boat it seems you can get.
Fleets are nearly as bad as that tier of science vessels. I'm sort of fond of the Dervish, though.

I'd nearly forgotten that I had that account from when I did the Alienware trial. Logged in and sure enough there was my Lt. Cmdr with his ships. Only a couple of escorts but hey. Better then nothing I suppose. That and a little over 1000 dilithuium and about 400k in credits.
Though I am kind of thinking I should have rolled eng instead of tactical. Those cruisers look nice and if I ever can, I'm getting me a sovereign class.
I'm gonna cross-post this suggestion in both threads and possibly fleet-mail it but I was thinking of setting up a Fleet-STF night on Wednesday. On that day every week, players get double the Encrypted Data Chips and more Dilithium for a certain STF. This week's the third STF, Khitomer Accord. The plan would be me and others (depending on how many wanna take part of it) leading members of the ADF first through the Space-side STF and then the same group through the Ground-side STF. I'd take groups through the Normal version of the STF and let someone more confident then I lead another group through the Elite version. If you guys want to try this out, let me know here and in-game and we'll hammer out a time to run it. Keep in mind too that KA's Ground portion has a special Accolade (AKA achievement) that'll let you score a Borg Bridge Officer afterwards.
Biggest tip for newbies: Play what you want. With the new skill balance, ship specialization is gone. A science Captain will work as well in an escort as a cruiser now. It all depends on what you want to do.
I played this game for a couple of months and remember it being pretty 'bleh'. I will reactivate my account - provided I can get a FtP account and they don't want to charge me. I would prefer to pick up where I left off.
Created a new character for you guys to buddy up with. PM me here or add @hullis in game.

Seems like the last couple days when I finally have time for some actual gaming they are restarting or updating or whatever. LET ME ENGINE SOME EERS, STO.
It's basically just a huge boulder with phasers that can't pilot through anything.
Which is basically right
I would recommend avoiding Cruisers if you want to enjoy the early space game, because it's pretty much just autofire and make sure your warp core doesn't blow up
The only ship I had that was truly a letdown was the Science/Cruiser hybrid somewhere down the science tree that has the Galaxy saucer but with that big sensor thing on the top. I can't remember the name of it.
It pretty much was a worst-of-both-worlds affair, all the slowness of a Cruiser and it didn't really feel like it was that much more durable. Probably a ship that is better if you have a very specific role in mind... not great for general purpose stuff.
Downloaded this last night and played through much of the tutorial missions. However, it BARELY ran on my netbook with absolutely no graphics options (looked like a game from 1995) so this is going on the "play when I get a proper computer" list.
I feel like it could be fun to pilot a starship around occasionally.

Thanks Jasconius, appreciate the info. I dislike ending up with "upgrades" that aren't any better basically.
You're talking about the Deep Space Reconnaissance Vessels, if I remember right, Jasc. They are decent PvP healing ships because of the Bridge officer slots. That said, don't worry about PvP until 50 anyways.
I only bought escorts on my way up, and I liked all of them except the Akira. For some reason, I don't know if it was a lull in my gear, or just the ship, but I died all the time.

Personally, I was kind of disappointed in the Galaxy refit (the one where the saucer comes off and serves as a pet). It just felt like a step down from the Sovereign I had been using. Was also annoyed that it didn't keep the skin from the Reman shield I had equipped when the saucer separated.

Barely familiar with anything Star Trek, and the only MMO I have ever played was RuneScape and a few hours of WoW.
Hmm, I might have to look into that. Was thinking about starting the dl when I went home at lunch.

They are maneuverable, not overpowering, they feel just right in terms of challenge.
Plus science officers have the coolest moves.
I play an engineer and I run a science vessel (and occasionally a cruiser when I'm feeling angry)
