In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the police who investigate crime and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories.

Jack McCoy, the batman of lawyers. Lennie Briscoe, the rough and tough cop. A show in two acts: cop and court. This is probably my favorite show on TV, and that's because it kicks ass.

Hell, the show has been around longer than some of the forumers (17 years) have lived.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

    The first is the best.

    And I mean the real first, with McCoy and Briscoe, not this stupid lame other guy who isn't Briscoe.

    This is why I don't watch the spinoffs.

    Oh and also because they don't have the Court part of the story. That's almost my favorite part.

    Briscoe and Logan was definitely the best cop combo. Even though Jack McCoy is my favourite ADA, the combo of Michael Moriarty and the black guy who rocked a flat top were my favourite duo.

    You know what's awesome, old detective movies circa 40's and 50's with Humphrey Bogart and gratuitous amounts of smoking and black and white and "heres looking at you kid."

    I liked Law and Order

    but it spawned CSI and all those other law drama bs shows

    and now it's really just a parody of a once great show

    CI is a no-court version, but I still like it. Mostly just because of the psychoanalytical element. And SVU, because the criminals were (are) often very compelling.

    I think the english translation of the name was White House which is an odd name because I do not recall a white house
