Yeah that was a great little bit of "Oh he feels bad, nope he's just putting the other part of his plan in motion." I wasn't the only who understood he did that to get the police to look into his brothers gun case, and it wasn't just some extra assholish thing to get the autistic kid in trouble right?

At this point Lester is becoming just like Malvo. I wouldn't be surprised if the next time he talks to the police he's a completely different person. And you have to wonder if that's why Malvo chose to intervene with lester, because he saw something of himself in the tiny man yearning to be awful.

Lester becomes Malvo in the finale while Malvo probably dies.

    Maybe Lester kills Malvo.

It would make sense for that to be the finale. Lester set up one hell of a cover story for all the bad shit. Spoilers for this episode naturally.

He can claim that he came home to find his brother standing over his dead wife with Malvo in toe, when the sheriff showed up Malvo shot the sheriff injured lester in the hand and the brother told Lester not to tell anyone or he would kill him, including forcing Lester to stay at his house so as to know where he was going to be.

Lester kills Malvo for being involved with killing his wife/the sheriff. Gets away with everything.

Yeah it was painful to watch Howerton's death like that, more so than anyone else on the show we got a slow mo death spiral.

I hope Molly isn't dead, and I hope that Gus is not the one who shot her, if only for Gus, poor Gus, he just wanted to be a mail man, and the only thing he delivered to Molly was a bullet.

I'm probably the only one, but fuck Lester's brother, guy is a prick if he goes down for all of Lester's awful, all the better.

    I don't think
Lester's brother should take the fall. But I do think he is a jackass and unnecessarily cruel. I could see where you would think you are alone if you read The AV Club reviews and the like where they are all praising him for seeing Lester as the monster he is.

I'm still somewhat sympathetic (to an extent) to Lester even though he really starting to enter Malvo territory. He seems like someone who was walked over his whole life and never learned/taught to stick up for himself and from what we've seen there was no support system there for him (wife ,brother and I assume his parents). This doesn't excuse what he did, but it is understandable that he would burst.

On that note, I was a bit uncertain why Malvo did what he did for Lester. At this point it almost seems like he is essentially the devil and knew he would be creating a disciple.

Maybe Malvo is like Mr. Glass from Unbreakable, he sets up situations to see if people will end up like himself.

    I'm sorta curious if
Howerton may have had a different fate if he showed the least bit more competence/intelligence. I suspect as soon as Malvo found him he was dead ,regardless. But Malvo seemingly doing things on whimsy at times makes me wonder a bit. Granted anything he does on the fly just seems to be to cause more chaos (see encouraging the kid at the inn to pee in the woman's gas tank).

As I said I think doomed regardless. But slightly curious if he was a bit less of an idiot. And yeah it was surprisingly painful to watch.

If Molly is dead. Gus's boss is going to go nuts. "SUE FALLS ALL OVER AGAIN!!!". If he isn't already.

    except
Lester is a sniveling coward the only reason he hasn't been caught yet is because of incompetence or blind luck. Like yeah Lester has been walked over his entire life but the man seems to have almost no conscious. The only reason he didn't do these things before was outta fear.

also i cant help but feel sorry for gus its not his fault if he shot her.

Gus's boss is already in deep shit, there is no way you can make "shot a man duck taped to a treadmill into swiss cheese" as a good thing.

Grimly can at least claim heat of the moment, though I'm hoping he just hit Molly in the vest and she hit the ground because it shocked her. Notice there wasn't any freshly red snow around her. DONT BE DEAD MOLLY!

Why wouldn't someone feel bad for Gus? None of it is really his fault. Unless you blame him for lacking spider sense ;-)

edit: He was a bit jumpy. But it was understandable considering the situation and he did want to get back-up. But he was working with a Cowboy cop and Cowboy cops don't play that way.

To be fair to Molly, they would have definitely gotten away if they did wait. That said , Malvo did regardless.

I'm a bit curious if Wrench was shot during the exchange Gus overheard.

The kind of guy who seemingly isn't happy with a nice ,attractive and caring wife.
SEE: The bit where he corrects her word usage with passive aggressive disgust: "It isn't a big word". I honestly forget what word it was. It was in the episode where Lester moves in with them.

    On the issue of porn
what was with all those nude pinups of an asian girl that popped up on Molly's screen when she found records of Lester calling that motel
    ?

    Whose was that?

Molly was apparently trying to solverson some of her sexual identity obviously!

It did just occur to me while talking with a coworker about this show. Lester is the only character we've seen Malvo interact with that he did not exact a cost from, he even came out to directly help Lester even though it indirectly harmed Malvo.

Love the ending, settling in on
Lester's smirk at his own cleverness. I wonder if they'll show the fallout from Operation Abel Hammer or just leave that to the imagination.

Pretty big WTF moment with the fish. No way that could've been Malvo, right?

No I believe that can happen when a storm is big enough, I swear it can because it came up with Sharknado that there is a real phenomenon of fish getting sucked up in a storm and then deposited on land.

You're right for some reason I keep expecting
Wrench to go with another character named after a "tool".

I just know Wrench is the deaf one because of imdb

I have a question that both my wife and I had. A couple episodes back, when Molly went to check out Lester's house again, why did she take the back of his washing machine off and root around in there? I rewound it and watched a second time to see if it looked like it was pulled out from the wall or if there was anything that would make her think "It looks like Lester's been in the back of this thing" and I couldn't find it. It really took me out of the show and it's the only time it's done that, so I'm hoping we missed something there.

Ah, that makes sense. Our toddler is often running around babbling loudly as we watch the show, so it's very easy to miss a few words of dialogue here and there and we probably missed that.

  • Options
    PreacherPreacher Registered User regular
Yeah he said something about the washing machine, I believe he said it twice. Now why she'd take the panel off? Intuition? I dunno, but Lester did mention it specifically in the ambulance.

Special Agents Key & Peele turned up. Then that over-the-top running gun battle in the office building.

Next week's preview looks damn good, too.

    Hilarious when Gus
is reading the window and says "what about the deaf fella?" Thought it was just his manner of speaking, and Molly actually wrote it that way.

Pretty great reset from all the peaks last episode. Glad to see Molly alive (though I didn't expect her to be killed without proper confrontation). Interesting to see how she snaps after the end.

Lester is pretty damn evil at this point, but I couldn't help but laugh at his faux shock about the gun.
