holm has her first opponent raquel pennington for 181 in dec
dunno anything about raquel but i like holms striking and curious to see if her tdd and ground skills have improved
Pennington has pretty heavy hands and she's very tough but I wouldn't say she's very technically skilled. I'm not sure about her ground game really. I'd say she's someone they setup knowing it will end in a knockout and up one or the other's stock, most likely Holm's.
Also that looks a scary amount like my dog.

Great (main) card here, tonight!
Dantas vs Warren is an amazing fight and will unite the Bantamweight titles with the champ, Dantas, facing off against former champ and current interim title-holder, Joe Warren.
The last two times Warren lost, this happened:
So, it will be interesting to see if he can protect his chin from KO guru, Eduardo Dantas.

Great card tonight.
Shields' return to MMA, Mehmen will win the HW title, Horodecki still probably looks 12, will Hamman get another gross hamstring injury, motherfuckin' Tim Hague.

The article states that the Singapore event was not profitable, so that certainly affects them going deep into Asia.

Cung may very well have used HGH. But I refuse to use the eye test as the final determination of such a thing. Considering how thoroughly botched his testing was, I'm going to assume his innocence from here on out, even if the UFC won't.

Christ, two years is a stretch. By the time he comes back, it will have been over three years since his last fight.
Thinking about all those potential KZ fights I'm missing is making me miffed!
I'm going to try and make a positive spin by saying maybe he will be able to baby his shoulder throughout his service and be super mega healed when fights again so his arm doesn't just fall off in the first round.

Was thinking the same thing. Being able to relax, rehab his shoulders, and train for fun because he wants to and not because he had to could be good for him, you never know. He'll only be 29 when he gets back plenty of time to keep fighting if he still wants.

Bear in mind fighters careers are generally attenuated by fights and the heavy training required for them. If the KZ get's to chill (a relative term of course) in the army, then he's going to pretty much stay the same "fight age".
"Name one person you've beaten that's still in the UFC?"
Good, point there's surprisingly few of them... Akiyama is about the only one? Unless you count Bisping's eye gouge victory over Belcher as a real win.

Ex-UFC guys, Bubba McDaniel & Nah-Shon Burrell are on bat, we well as crazy-striker and british dude, Michael Page!
Bonus points for the (non)controversial, Dakota Cochrane bout, I guess? I dunno. Something something gay porn something.
Jones is so fake that he looks photoshopped.

Anyway, Mehman got destroyed by Smealinho. That was surprising!
What wasn't surprising was Shields beating Ford, but I suppose the fact that he subbed him in the first might shock a few people.
Also, he called out John Fitch. Blanket party!
Unfortunately, we'll never know because it was done in such a bullshit manner.

I was worried he was going to get KOd at like the 22 second mark.
His UFC career is sidelined for 2 years.

Doesn't make it suck any less for him, though.
Just... dammit.

Barao already beat Faber twice, both times very convincingly. He has Faber's number. Hard to sell the trilogy when that's the case.
