Soul Suspect has fantastic ideas that they completely and absolutely squander.
You know you're saying that directly to someone who worked on it right?
Actually no I didn't, but that doesn't actually change my opinions whatsoever.
I still say, that it had a fantastic idea behind it that was completely and absolutely squandered. For one thing, the investigation aspects of the game could really have been very amazing with the concepts of being able to possess others, influence how they think/act, read their thoughts and similar. However these aspects are woefully underused and most investigations are extremely basic, sometimes involving essentially guessing (sometimes fairly unintuitively) what the right clues usually are (which are 90% of the time immensely self-evident). A good example is an early initial sidequest figuring out what happened to a young woman near the docks, of which all the evidence for figuring out why/how she died is within about 10 feet of her. It doesn't feel satisfying and felt more like a pixel hunt in some cases.
The game also has a very rushed and sudden feeling conclusion and "Being a ghost detective" is a great one line summary, where much of it kind of doesn't play with the idea of being a ghost enough. The stealth/combat mechanics are just irritating and they slow up the game more than they actually add to it. There was a tremendous amount of potential for what you could have got out of demons and similar, but they are generally either very easy to dodge entirely (sometimes by accident) or just irritating (require a specific series of steps).
It would be great if they could get a sequel, because there is just so much potential for this type of game.

A Facebook friend of mine is friends with Derek Smart, so I see Smart's posts when my friend comments or likes them. Turns out Smart is vehemently anti-GamerGate.
New Gang Beasts patch hit, and along with a new level (two shipping containers suspended over an arena) there's also new Halloween themed hats (well, heads really), including a giant eyeball, a pumpkin, a tiny head, a HUGE head and no head.
No head actually has an effect on gameplay as your head just falls off at the beginning and rolls around. People can beat it up to knock you out and if it gets flung out of the arena, it counts as a ringout.
Yeah, Pope's kid is a cutie. Actually, all the friends of GB have cuties for kids.
edit: Best part of the Popes' costume is that they match facial expressions in those photos, and now Pope has changed his profile photo to be of his kid.
Hey, when Whiskey split up and each part got bought out, GB had to leave everything behind and start over. They probably took whatever they could that wasn't nailed down, including the penguin suit.

Who even kept that

What a refreshing presence.
Also it would keep my Drew/Mary fanfic internally consistent.
Gaining access to GameSpot's staff was a pretty unexpected side benefit.
