My girl and I are really interested in doing this. Is there anything I should know if this is my first pokecrawl? Do I have to come dressed up as a character? Is it okay that I barely understand the rules of the game? I HAVE QUESTIONS.
This seems really fun. Since I sorted Thursday being off this year at my job, I'm psyched to be a part of this if possible.

yes! The most basic rules are that you need a ticket to participate, there's one basic challenge per bar, and the point of the evening is to raise money for child's play while meeting new people and hanging out with friends!
really pokemon is just a name honestly the crawl has very little to do with pokemon. I mean yes the challenges and stuff like that are color based but really no pokemon knowledge is needed at all
@zerzhul - thanks homey! I guess one last question: do I have to pick a team and announce it right now, right here? Or just grab a ticket when they become available?
Grab one when they become available and be willing to go for second or third or fourth choices - they go very, VERY fast these days. As in this is at the tail end of one of my classes and I will be sure to leave class in advance so I can hopefully grab one
Also note that you can't drop like 1 of 2 tickets
It's very all or nothing if I remember correctly.
So if you have somebody that may or may not go try to get them on a separate order.

I'm not sure I've seen anyone actually playing pokemon on the crawl before.
Not at all ever we've been way too busy pushing the limits of intoxication to play. After though it's seems to be a tradition to do Karaoke at the Hong Kong. At least the last 2 or 3 years

And they come around with $1 chicken on a stick, which is amazingly helpful during a night of drinking.
Just scored my tickets for me and my gf. GO TEAM GREEN Y! If it is anything like the last time I did this I tend to start donating a lot of money to Child's Play when I've had a few!

It says right on the back of all the Pokemon boxes that basic reading skills are needed to enjoy the game. If you still have basic reading skills by the end of the crawl, youre doing it wrong

I think so. However due to the nature of how short the time between PAX South and PAX East, it might show up very close to the last minute?
