Trump's April FEC report. Am I correct in understanding that Trump's campaign is 43m in debt?

(There is an appallingly large number of typos in there with regards to decimal points and commas... are the vetted by anyone? )
    5. Covering Period 01-APR-16 Through 30-APR-16

    6. Cash on Hand at BEGINNING of the Reporting Period 2,111,070.09
    7. Total Receipts This Period 9,659,099.97
    8. Subtotal (6 + 7) 11,770,170.06
    9. Total Disbursements This Period 9,361,528.11
    10. Cash on Hand at CLOSE of the Reporting Period 2,408,64.95
That seems low? Oh well, May one should be released soon enough.

Trump raised $3 million for the RNC in the last two weeks of May. That also seems low even taking into account Romney probably had the whole month of May to raise that $25.9 million for the RNC that month.

Plus getting hardly a fraction of contributions while piling on the debt.

I think that he has $2 MM on hand not counting the loans, but the loans were mostly from himself to the campaign so they don't really matter as long as he raises the money eventually.

No, her disbursements are way higher.

The debt is massive, because that's how his campaign is being funded. He loans his campaign massive amounts of money. They're getting almost no straight up donations.

Trump's business history is bankrupting companies while raiding them for executive salary and bonuses. There's a NYT article on how this was done for his casinos. He's now using that methodology on the RNC.

Trump isn't a stakeholder in the long term health of the RNC. I would be interested to learn after the fact how much he and his family profited off or salary and services contracted this own hotel/event hosting companies. It's just the GOP long con directed inward to the party now that the nominee has no interest in the GOPS's long term health.

Lewandowski is just one less item on the balance sheet for the campaign.

So Trump's also bankrupting himself doing this?

Well, wouldn't be the first time those words have been spoken....

He's bankrupting his campaign, which honestly a lot of campaigns end up under water after election while paying himself, his staff whose last name is trump and the hotels/golf courses where he hosts some events money.

Also, I'm probably too drunk to post, so I'll stop. I lurk so much and only post shitfaced.

Problem is that the donor class that he would need to make that kind of con work isn't putting anything down until trump matches it, so there is nothing on the table for him to grift.

Ain't no spitting out the hook on this one.

Glad that it didn't get anybody killed. That could have easily resulted in a wounded or dead person.

Agreed, Trump's an ass, but I don't want him murdered.

Also, as an aside, it's interesting to note this guy had to try and go for a cop's gun because he couldn't obtain one himself.

I've considered the Trump assassination scenario before. Not as a matter of planning an attack, obviously, but as a thought experiment with various public figures. I sometimes do that to try to think through how it shakes out politically, who gains, who loses, etc. I can say unequivocally that I do not want Trump assassinated.

I want him beaten, I want him repudiated, I want the voting population to give a full-throated rebuttal of everything he stands for. A bullet robs us of that opportunity. Steals the chance for America to say "No, we will not treat people who are different from us this way."

Not do what? I don't want blood either.

I'm pointing out that this guy needed to try and steal a weapon off a police officer to shoot someone, and yet here in the States the GOP is getting petitioned to allow open carry at their convention.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Technically he can't be murdered. It'd be an assassination at this point since he's a major public figure. Which, being shot is what ended Huey Long and George Wallace's campaigns. (And RFK) Though not Reagan. Nor the attempts of shooting Bush the Greater, Clinton, Bush the Lesser, and Obama.

yeah, we've been failing spectacularly at political discourse lately. its depressing that we've allowed ourselves to reach a point where we feel violence is a legitimate tactic. :(
