I'm meeting up with my mom and sister, and catching the M's game at Safeco, today.
When I was growing up, we used to do this every year they had a home game. We haven't done it for seven or eight years, though...I'm actually kind of excited for it.
once they decided christmas is a pagan practice and should be banned they were just like fuck it and banned everything.
you ever sit and listen to why birthdays are banned? they could have easily gone either way with it.

Who bans birthdays? What's next, not keeping track of how old you are?

There may be a lot of people out there that would be fine with that.
My mom likes to make scrapbooks, and teach the kids at her school how to do the same, so I bought a big one for her today. I initially wanted to treat her to dinner, but she thought the scrapbook idea was better.
mother's day was in february, you are all terrible sons and daughters for not remembering

I threw something together with needlefelt this morning then went to go meet my mom for breakfast around noon. We're going for a run in like half an hour too, and then we're going some place for dinner. Pretty standard I guess.

"when we arrive, sons and daughters..."
My mom lives in CO, whereas I am pretty definitely in NM. I sent her a card and talked to her on the phone. Shoulda sent flowers, I guess. Like to keep low standards.
Nothing ever got done by sitting around and complaining. Take action!

so this was a strange moms day. I go home, take my mom to breakfast and church, she gets sick right after church from breakfast, the closest bathroom is at the beach as i was driving her home. i chill at the beach for a minute when i notice that my academic advisor for my school is in the car next to me and i find out right there that she is married to the dean of my school.
then i am driving my mom home and she asks if i could buy her a nintendo wii so that she can play tennis again without hurting her knee.
I went to church this morning with my parents.
THIS IS MY PRESENT TO THEM.
Considering how long the sermons last around here, that would be like a Mother's Day present, Christmas, two birthdays, and then St. Patrick's day as I get drunk to forget the hour and a half of my life I'll never get back.
So I ordered some flowers off a site for my mom, my aunt, and my old arthritic neighbor who calls us "you nice Orientals", since she gives me free drinks for getting her mail and stuff.
Let me tell you, if there was ever a site that price gouged in order to take advantage of people buying shit off their site a week in advance, it's them.
I'm so broke
And I'm not going to post the website, as I wish to avoid giving them any possible advertisement.

What's that mom, if I'm ever horribly injured you'll let me die instead of getting a blood transfusion? Yeah, fuck you too.

See, according to the JWs, if you get a blood transfusion or transplants of any kind, you've desecrated the temple of your body and will go to hell.

Well, there's a Women's History Month nowadays. Apparantely having March 8 wasn't good enough for them so they appropriated the whole month.
which is a pretty good deal
