Producer #1: The thirteen of us began with a singular vision -- "Titanic" meets "Frasier".
Producer #2: But then we found out that ABC had a similar project in development with Annie Potts and Jeremy Piven.
Homer: Who's Jeremy Piven?
Producer #3: We don't know.
Producer #4: But it scared the hell out of us, so we slapped together a cop show instead.
Homer: Police Cops.
Producer #5: Uh, no, actually, it was called "Badge Patrol".
Producer #1: But the network idiots didn't want a show about high tech badges that shoot laser beams!
Producer #2: So we asked ourselves, "Who's behind the badge?"
Producer #3: Police ...
Producer #4: Cops ...
Producer #5: "Police Cops."
From a story perspective not all enforcers are cops, they're more like mercenaries hired by the government of San Paro to help control the excessive crime levels.
You know, the thing that gets me possibly the most excited isn't about this game at all, but what it might lead up to if it turns out to be succussful. Could we get games of this general type, but with different themes that folks've been screaming out for like zombie uprisings or alien invasions or nuclear holocausts and shit?

I'm gonna go with either crazy Completely Swat Geared up Sniper for the Cops
or Dude who wears armani suits and blows things up remotely for the Criminals.
edit:
Basically
my Criminal Character = inspired by Heat + Usual Suspects
my Cop Character = inspired by All the Evil Gas Mask Wearing Cliche Super Police Crush Force (ala Half-Life, Prototype, etc.) but...not as evil or expendable O_o
Speaking of french people, Sébastien Foucan would be kind of cool, mostly because he would be so out of place, given his maxims of serenity and purity.

Man.
Reminds me of when all we had seen of it was the character creator and a tiny bit of driving.
Well yeah, that's the obvious alternative.
Top Lawmen
Is it bad that I love puns so much?
What about some kind of John Woo reference? There's gotta be some kind of dick joke we can make out of a John Woo movie

Phoenix Wright
Tank Girl
A criminalized Mahatma Ghandi
Viewtiful Joe
Faith from Mirror's Edge
I definitely want to see Tom Selleck in the game.... also Charles Bronson.
That would have to be one of the classes.

Those will be my first two characters.
Well... after Gene Hunt anyway.
Or Viggo Mortensen's character in A History of Violence.
Or Aragorn. Whatever.
With voice chat, you could go around talking like him, given you can do a fine impression.
