I keep hearing reports about the Captain Planet phalla. What the hell is going on over there? I haven't been following it.
Well, I don't want to bash somebody's Phalla as it's going on, and in general I think it is kind of lame to give someone shit for something they are volunteering to do. But basically what happened was that there was evidently a secret rule that if all the people who had the rings used their rings on the same day, Captain Planet would be summoned and kill all of the people who had the rings. There was literally no warning of this happening except for a side post after the narration the day before where Captain Planet is playfully summoned and comes out all angry and in red font. The problem is, the entire game, from the OP onwards, has been playing with the subject manner in that way, being very tongue-in-cheek and twisting the concept in funny/sarcastic ways.
I mean there was no reason for Captain Planet's summoning to kill all people with rings. I could at least understand, maybe, a whole buttload of kills that are random. But it was kind of just ridiculous. There was nothing about summoning Captain Planet in the OP, and I feel kind of betrayed and annoyed that I spent time on a game and got killed for something that should have been made patently clear from the beginning.
Anyway, I apologize for being all snarky and annoyed about something that is just a game, but I feel like there is some kind of implicit trust that goes on between people who runs phallas and people who play in them. Of course, there are exceptions to this, such as false seering, etc., but I feel like this was completely out of place and unnecessary.
From now on, any crazy philosophical turtles all the way down shit, I leave to him. Such a relief to get that off my chest.
That's not philosophy. It's religion.
Holy (no pun intended) shit. That is religion. I revoke it all. I accept that I must make my own decisions and resolve my own complexities. Nice catch. I am now master of my own domain--which, if anyone cares, is sleep.

I have to disagree. Many phallas don't list all the stuff that goes on and I think it is somewhat better that way.
In fact, RNG kills are decidedly 100x worse than what happened.
WALL-E was cute and had a good message behind it, but it was no where remotely close to as good as people lead me, and continue to lead me, to believe it would be and is.
That may be, but I still don't see why everyone thinks it's so gosh-darn peachy keen.
Really, if there was something that I just missed, someone please tell me, because I'd really like to have enjoyed it as much as everyone else apparently did.
I got up at eight today, that was a real whoa moment, people were still at home. So [chat] I'm thinking of doing a thread on knife crime in the UK and more specifically why the new legislation is fucking retarded, would any of you be interested?
Teenagers have a fascination with finding weird stuff and complaining about it. I’m glad to be done with that.
Hey, that reminds me. I still haven't watched the mouth nipples yet.

That was a weird meeting. I think my supervisor may have thought I was getting depressed and frustrated with science (or possibly life) so he was all "if you need support just let me know" and then we got on to science and he was all "get a goddamn paper written". Ugh.

Nah.
The CP game is crazy.
Patton = 2 hours 50 minutes
Seven Samurai = 3 hours 27 minutes (if you're watching the restored version)
Seven Samurai is awesome as all fuck if you can deal with subtitles. That said, I've seen all four and they are all worth watching.

Anyway, Omeganaut selection this week! Here's hoping!

And hello.
WALL-E was fantastic. A really really great movie.

As opposed to Rescue Dawn, Wall-E will be getting a theatrical release.
And I will watch it on the big screen. In all its superior digital glory.
Allow me to explain via these visual aids:
I think it's cute that you believe that. High hopes, Haps. High hopes.
See, that made me giggle a bit. Which, in the end, is really all I got from watching WALL-E.
Although this may in fact be because my seeing it was precluded by everyone else talking about how great it was.
Which would make it Portal all over again.
Hey, that reminds me. I still haven't watched the mouth nipples yet.
Uh, yeah. Unless.
Google is not providing me with any clue as to what this means.
I mean, I know that diesel is petrol. But I don't know what it means to have it in my veins.
