    Ooo ok that makes sense now, thanks. I never played ICO because I hate having to do "defense missions" over and over. I would have ended up just leaving her to die constantly.

    A bit too obscure for my taste, but I still like the first and last panels.

    Unrelated:

    When I saw that the robot overlord hadn't put up the thread for the new comic yet I was so overjoyed because I was like hey maybe I might be able to make a new comic thread this might be neat. But then I saw your thread and my heart sank. :(

    I think the lack of borders in the last two panels is to show that they are remembering something.


    Well, they had like four hilarious ones in a row but I'm not overly impressed with this one. Almost felt like it should have been longer.

    This effect is called Pareidolia, and it happens because our brains are trained to see patterns and to pull recognizable patterns out of the chaos of what we see and hear. Most of the time, it doesn't work without some help or suggestion.

    Most often times these are highly familiar images, such as Jesus, as seen here in the lower left hand corner of a kitchen floor tile.

    Sometimes the Virgin Mary appears in your brain scan.

    But only if that is the more familiar image to us. For those of us here, we might look at the area where Mary's belly is and see Chewbacca.

    We do it all the time around here with car headlights and designer chairs.

    It's not limited to visual stimulus. While we might be seeing a lot all the time, we're hearing stuff all the time too, and we filter out patterns as well.
