Is there any reason, any reason, that Sony isn't putting Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep on the PSN? Is it really that much of a pain to do? To be perfectly honest though, I've been burned on all the portable KH games so maybe this is for the best.
I've heard theory that it's a Squeenix thing. Note the lack of Crisis Core as well. There is a fee per mb that publishers need to swallow to have their content served on PSN, and rumor has it that Squeenix just doesn't want to pay.
I can't see any other reason, so the rumor seems legit.
Actually, people are saying it's Disney's fault, as Disney is fairly anti-DD.
I'd go out on a limb and suggest that it's on both Squeenix and Disney, since I wouldn't be surprised about the Disney part and Squeenix drags ass in handing over their things for PSN.

The reason why Sony aren't putting it on the PSN is because Square Enix haven't submitted it for PSN release. If you think they've any other involvement in this, you're being silly.
The only thing Sony could've done is force every third party to release their games on the PSN as well, but that probably wouldn't have gone over terribly well with third parties, especially since Square Enix and Disney would've signed the deal for Birth by Sleep like 4 or 5 years ago.
Do any of you guys who live in Europe want to create a European PSN account, buy Outrun Online Arcade, and then give me the account details in exchange for an American account with $20 USD in it's wallet, or alternately just a $20 US PSN card code?
I'd get my sweet, sweet Outrun on, and you'd get to pick up some games from the NA PSN that you wouldn't otherwise have access to.
Eh usually like 1-6PM PST Tuesdays for the NA PSN.
Renzo that game (Malicious) looks positively ridiculous. And fun. But 1:13 -- Random cut to boobs? Fucking Japan.
I tried the Shank demo, and while more entertaining than some recent releases (I'm looking at you Deathspank) it still seems too shallow and short to justify $15. $5-10 is the sweet spot for these games. Especially ones with far better (personally perceived) value like Critter Crunch or Gravity Crash. Shit like Braid can pull off $15 because of the sheer quality of the work and the uniqueness of the gameplay but this derivative bland shit can't carry that kind of weight.
Even if you hated Braid you can admit that the combined quality of the graphics, audio and non-standard gameplay give it a better value [edit:objectively] than something like Shank. Hell even the Scott Pilgrim beat-em-up was only $10.

Wait, graphics? Admittedly, I haven't played Shank yet, but the graphics I've seen in the screenshots look drastically better than the graphics in Braid (which were a mix of pretty backgrounds and ugly sprites).

The character animations are probably the highlight, graphics are pretty good (backgrounds are somewhat bland at least on the demo level), the animated cinematics are middling. It's more of a matter of taste with the graphics. It's more the gameplay, which I'd had about enough of at the end of the first level. That's more of a personal beef with the style of play I guess, but again Scott Pilgrim has what I'd say is more interesting combat (positional, pickup weaopns), local multiplayer, heavily stylized graphics (you either like the 8bit throwback or you don't) and is $5 less.
Yo, is 3rd Strike coming up as a download or something?
I fucking love me some 3rd Strike goddammit. You motherfuckers don't even know.
You don't even know.
2 years
Why?
That is a really long time.
There's a lot of debate going on about what to change if anything. 3rd strike's cast has a very "wide" tier list (as i'm sure you know) and there's been some discussion about whether or not to change things up.

Hmmm. On the one hand, I'd like to see renewed competition from a revitalized balance, but on the other I don't want them to muck shit up.

Anyone going to get Theme Hospital? I probably will. Loved that game on the PC back in the day. I miss Bullfrog. I hope we eventually get Syndicate Wars as well.
Sonic Adventure was just confirmed to be released on XLBA on September 15th for 800 points. No word on the PSN version yet, but at least now we know what the pricepoint is going to be for Dreamcast games. $10 doesn't seem too bad, if you ask me.

FINALLY! I've wanted Castle Crashers since the game came out, and I feared I'd never get to play it.

I bought it like 2 years ago when EA released it on the PAL PSN. It's still really fun but from memory, the saves take up a ton of slots on the PS1 memory cards (possibly an entire card, I can't remember). So if you plan on having multiple saves, you may want to create a handful of memory cards beforehand.
No Castle Crashers, but we do get Alien Breed: Impact. I have no idea if it's any good.

edit: Oh and Front Mission 3 and the original Tomb Raider are the PS1 downloads.
Front Mission 3, Sam and Max 3x05 and VC2? That's a pretty awesome update. Touche SCEE, touche.
From the PS Blog comments:
Sonic Adventure should be hitting the PSN at around the same time (as the XBLA release). Castle Crashers is coming in the next few weeks, I don’t have a date I can give you yet I’m afraid.
Also, it sounds like the Monkey Island games will be discounted in a couple of weeks to coincide with International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Seems like a good time for me to pick up MI2 and Tales. Oh and Front Mission 3 is 320MB.
It's pretty shitty that Sony is putting demos up that you can't download unless you're a + member.
No, no, as a + member, early access to demos is by far the least they could do.
I don't care that they give + members early access, but I think it's annoying that they put the same demo, unmarked, in the "regular" store. You only find out it's a + demo when you try and download it.. and they offer you the opportunity to upgrade to +.
It's stupid and not why I bought a PS3 over an xbox.

Typically games go down in price over time though
This game's been out for over two years on Xbox Live
A $10 price tag isn't too much to ask
Maybe someday we can see a Breath of Death PSN port too...
