during our game of Dread, a horrid space monster psycho man jumped out of an air duct and tried to rip off Cass' face
this was totally unexpected. dudes were conversing and then suddenly I told Cass to pull, and she was like "what why" and I'm like "Just do it"
so she did. Pulled successfully!
i tell her that some thing jumped out of the vents at her, but she instinctively wheeled around and shot it. it screeched, and skittered off into the vents a split-second after it appeared, gone and leaving everyone going SHIT
had she refused to pull, i would've told her the creature injured her, knocked her gun away, and now was in the room (probably resulting in another, much worse challenge to pull on the part of her or another player)
had she pulled and toppled the tower, the psycho man would've put his space-virus-enhanced fist through her space-suit's faceplate (and also her face)
Fuck Expected Family Contribution. What about those of us whose parents barely qualified as middle class so my EFC was fucking 0?!

Yeah. Ours is 0 so we get loads of free money. It's the grey areas where your family makes enough that they expect them to contribute to your education but they really can't that will fuck you.

True story: They were actually executed in the basement of a house in Bensenville, IL, which is (was) a city right next to O'Hare airport. They were buried in a cornfield in Indiana. A large portion of Bensenville (over 500 homes and businesses) is currently abandoned and awaiting demolition in order for O'hare to expand!

I remember playing as a kid with the kids from the upstairs apartment and their dad. one of the kids went and it was my turn and just before I touched the tower I pulled back and it collapsed. since I hadn't touched it the other kid was out. he got mad cause it was my turn but his dad set him straight.

well, no, that's just not true. It introduces a huge meta-game skill component to the system that is not present in a purely random die roll.
