    so the Dalai Lama just resigned as leader of Tibet in exile

    happy about this

    not happy about why (he's resigning because Tibetans are violently revolting in China and he ain't down with that)

    but i've never liked the theocratic government of Tibet

    I didn't really understand if that was the reason from the guardian article. They seem to be painting it more as a move towards a lay government, though they do mention the interview with Der Spiegel in 2008.

    Man, I went out drinking with a bunch of people from the new yorker tonight. I was pseudo-hired twice. Gotta finish that degree so soon so that they can hire me.

    On the upside, I am at the top of my charming game.

    Also at my drinking game. I showed them to a bunch of different bars and they thought it was so cool that I knew the bartender everywhere. Alcoholism FTW!
