Man, I went out drinking with a bunch of people from the new yorker tonight. I was pseudo-hired twice. Gotta finish that degree so soon so that they can hire me.
On the upside, I am at the top of my charming game.
Also at my drinking game. I showed them to a bunch of different bars and they thought it was so cool that I knew the bartender everywhere. Alcoholism FTW!
How are you, [chat].
pseudo-hired in that they would take you if you put yourself on the market?
pseudo-hired in that I have multiple job offers from the new yorker once I have a BA in philosophy. So hopefully i'll start interning there in september and working there in may.
@bama: nice! i read like 100 pages in my calc textbook earlier today. I will understand these maths soon enough!
Oh man, some cunt tried to pull some bullshit on me at the club and I was hella reasonable while she remained an entitled bitch, and by the end of it her fucking friend ended up siding with me.
what bullshit
Some girl left her spot at the front so I took it. Her and her friends cordoned off this one area for them to be able to dance, meanwhile where I was, everyone was squished together compact, and I was behind Sabs and our friend. So she comes back and starts telling me to leave, that it was her spot, a friend was saving it, blah blah. And I tell her, look, there was no room where I was, my old spot was filled the moment I moved, and you left your spot. And she's just like I don't care where you go just go that's my spot.
No. Bummer. Sorry.
So she started bad mouthing me to her friends while standing right beside me passively trying to push me out of her spot to the point that one of her friends told me she was being a crazy bitch and I was in the right.

All told, tonight was awesome. Concert was great, got to see Sabs for the first time since, shit, I forget. Two of the three openers were entertaining, and afterwards I got to talk to the sexy singer from the second one. Got home, where pizza and beer were waiting. Aww yiss.

What type of roles do they see you doing at the New Yorker?
So far, I have a possible job at
1) Fact-checking
2) Editing
3) Archiving
One of the main editors is in love with me and wants to hire me for archiving. I think I would be best as a fact-checker, but editing seems to be the most fulfilling job. I dunno. I've just been hanging out with a lot of people from the New Yorker recently and, to be frank, I can be an extremely charming person when I put the effort into it, and I've really won them over.
@sig: tell me about it. But I really do need to finish my degree first.
Also, bummed about the celtics. Nice win last night though, lady!

Oh right, well that'd be cool. It is an enjoyable magazine to read and pretty popular here in London
wrapping up some linear algebra homework that has made a lot more sense than the last time I looked at it and packing for PAX
definitely ready for some PAX
LA is so lame.
Analysis is where it's at.
Word.
LA has yet to click with me and it has been ~4 years since I took intro, so this class has been a pain.
I daresay I'm rocking my Real Analysis course, though.
I have Real Analysis II and Complex Analysis with the same teacher on the same days of the week this semester. It's a good thing they are 3 hours apart and aren't back-to-back or I'd get them confused. I think complex analysis is my favorite math class that I've taken.
My LA classes have been so algorithm based that I'd spend 10 minutes completing the homework and forget it all by test time.

So I came in for a release an hour early, and it turns out at midnight a Chicago guy raised some questions about it and now we can't do the release until we sort it out.

Bioware should be more like Mr. T, or Bob Dole. Bob Dole and Mr. T ain't got time for pronouns.
edit: after typing this I realize that Mr. T and Bob Dole only eliminate a single pronoun and that it's already gender neutral. Late indeed.
just one bottle, unfortunately. and now it's open, so it's worthless
oh man are you kidding me
I was all giddy
