You can't say Alienware is a ripoff and then not say the mac pro line is a ripoff. Because it really is. So are the apple monitors.
I believe Apple monitors are pre-calibrated, but I would still actually tend to agree with you about them.
As far as I know, the displayss apple puts out aren't really any more expensive than similar quality displays from other companies. Just looking around a bit, the Dell equivalent 27 monitor is exactly the same price. I couldn't find anything on that level at newegg
Apparently displays that nice with that high of a resolution are just really, really fucking expensive. I have no problem bagging on apple on price where they deserve it (hello ram/hdd build to order options), but here people just seem to right off apple without checking first.

I bought one of those huge ass Apple widescreen monitors when they first came out
Had to buy a $100 adapter to use it with my PC. And the adapter wouldn't let the PC detect the display until Windows had booted, so if I wanted to do anything with the BIOS, which I did a lot as it was a home built, I had to drag out an old CRT and plug it in. Ended up returning it, getting a big non-Apple monitor and have a few hundred bucks left over.
I just bought Adobe Ideas, and fuck it's cool. Drawing app with layers basically, although you do have to pay an extra £0.59 for the layers functionality which is kinda shitty.

Oh do you guys have any sites for cases.
I seem to be permanently disappointed with my cases.
I seem to be permanently disappointed with my cases.
I have three cases (including the free apple bumper) and a gelaskin, and I hate them all.
I don't think it's possible for me to like using a case for more than a day. I'm using this one at the moment, but only when I'm out of the house. I take it off the second I get home, which seems kinda pointless.
God damnit. I put down an S on a triple word score to finish a word and forgot to actually put a word on it. I would have gotten 27 more points.
I was hedging on you not having an s and me getting one on the draw. Of course, I got some dumb shit instead. My hand the entire time has been something along the lines of WOIIIIIIIIIII. Killing me.
Also, this is the first app I've run into that actually runs worse on Android than on iOS.
I guess I'll research more. I bought another $15 app card from Best Buy with a reward zone certificate, so I've got $22 total, but I'm also being very frugal with each purchase.
Air Video Pro seems like a no-brainer, but I wanted to double-check: the Pro version lets you save converted movies directly onto the iPad, correct?
GarageBand looks fun, but being musically inept (but I feel that I at least have an ear for it), I wonder if it's something that I'll mess with a couple of times and then shelve.
Beyond that, I'd like more apps that would let me view my favorite sites and forums, but neatly formatted for iPad reading. I think that's what Google reader apps are for, but I've never actually used RSS or anything of the sort, so I'm inexperienced there.
Instapaper seems good, but does it work with iCab Mobile?
For that matter, doesn't iCab do this anyway with its ability to save offline pages?
I'm also still looking for a wireless keyboard. Does the numlock keys work if I get a model with them? Someone mentioned something about Mac shortcuts, so I'm wondering what they are and if it means I should stick with an Apple brand.

So, uh...penultimate by a landslide.
Is there an app that does do both? Like an ultimate note-taking, task-planning app? Because that would be super handy.

I'm really not sure what you are getting at here.
It is a fine operating system. It doesn't play as many video games as Windows so I guess there is that?
Steam is coming along with plenty of games though so I'm still not sure why you are saying it is "pointless"
Also I need to get a stylus for my ipad.

I hate all cases I have had/tried.
Maybe they just arent for me.
Satans..... hints.....
yeah it is really cool
also art get a cosmonaut when they're available for sale
How....how did you know?
man, unless the eink is why you're making your decision, let me say that the nook color is amazing.
But if you want the eInk and not a lit background, go kindle.
plus you've got great stuff like Instapaper and Delivereads to go with it.
nook color is just a regular LCD touchscreen, although you can root it to gingerbread and apparently thats pretty great
but that also sort of defeats the purpose of buying an e reader for me, my interest in an ipad is 0% unless its free
