All this talk of Origin keys made me start it up and, oh God, it still sucks so badly. Buying stuff on there is impossible because every time I click on anything in the store, it takes 5 minutes and goes non-responsive for most of that time. How did EA manage to make a games delivery system that runs worse than any of their games do on my system?

There's a little + button in the upper-right hand corner of your games list. Click on that and put a check next to icons to get them back.
This happened to my fiancee a few weeks ago, and they disappeared again after she played a game. The only way we got it to stick was by exiting Steam completely after re-enabling the icons.
