Ion Dash Vs AutOppRendar was one of the most interesting, tense matches I've played.
Suuuuuuper fun!
My list:
Blue Squadron x2
Advanced Sensors x2
Dash
Veteran Instincts
Ion Cannon
Outrider
Jan Ors
Anti-Pursuit Lasers
Many ion tokens were handed out.
But not enough!
Thanks for the game. :-)

I gotta say, This game over all the matches I've had with you all, and in real life, have been some of the most satisfying table top gaming I've done. There's so much strategy in planning your moves and trying to read your opponent, picking the most optimal options, then the tense as hell dice rolls to see how it all turns out.
I will say I don't think I've had as many collisions in a single game, on both sides of the screen, and even with all that my anti pursuit lasers only went off once, and didn't score a hit.
Also I never was able to get my game in with Rend, can I make it up and who would I make it up with?
I believe that person would be Grunt's Ghosts
To add to this, I'm cool with it if everyone who has missed a game wants to try to make it up. You have to run it by your opponent, and let me know if/when it happens. Just don't bury someone in requests please.
In the same vein, and it probably doesn't need to be said, but I'm cool with it if people organize their own games outside of the league too
Also I never was able to get my game in with Rend, can I make it up and who would I make it up with?
I believe that person would be Grunt's Ghosts
I had two games last week? I'm sorry, I totally thought my game with Stationary was me taking Rend's spot.
No, just the one heh. You took the spot, and kind of inherited Rend's unplayed games, I guess, so that's what he's referring to. It's totally up to you if you want to try to make them up; I'm not going to force anyone to play any games they don't want to play.

I'm more then willing to play those extra games, I just need to sit down and rebuild my list. My game with Stationary showed me a few things I didn't see before and I'm going to build a better list from that.
And of course we already knew about;
Note that the title is non-unique. So for 100 point dogfight, you can pick two and they both get the benefit of both pilot abilities.
==================
[Robot Overlords]
==================
IG88-B (50) Once per round, after you perform an attack that does not hit, you may perform an attack with an equipped cannon upgrade
Aggressor (36), Push the Limit (3), Advanced Sensors (3), Mangler Cannon (4), Ion Cannon (3), Inertial Dampeners (1), IG-2000 (0)
IG88-C (50) After you perform a boost action, you may perform a free evade action.
Aggressor (36), Push the Limit (3), Advanced Sensors (3), Mangler Cannon (4), Ion Cannon (3), Inertial Dampeners (1), IG-2000 (0)
So most turns: Boost(Evade), PTL for a Focus, reveal a green maneuver to remove the stress, then attack with Mangler or Ion, and if that misses, attack again.

Looks like they have to both take them for either to get the ability of the other, assuming I'm reading it correctly.
Of course, since they're free and don't take an upgrade slot you're pretty clearly expected to take the title if you're flying more than one IG.

I think an ion heavy build would be good counter for that. a couple Y wings with ion turrets, and maybe a couple X-wings with Ion Torpedoes. Try to force one of the ships to fly off the edge.
League/Vassal People:
Vassal got updated and there's an update to 5.2.2 for X-Wing. Try to update that so everyone's on the same page and there aren't any issues
@Ingram and I weren't able to connect on Saturday, so please mark last week's game down as a win for him, since he was ahead on points when we called "time." We'll still try and fit it in if possible, but we don't want to hold things up for it.
It worked out okay in the beginning. I got some GREAT shots off on his Y-wings (5v1-rolls-that-resulted-in-4-hits-with-RAC-good). But I flew too close to the sun edge, and was easily ion'd off by the 2 Y-Wings.
It was a simple matter of Sokpuppet cleaning up with HLC Dash after that.
Took a new list to second place at a small-ish local tournament this evening.
Omicron Group Pilot
Advanced Sensors
Engine Upgrade
Rebel Captive
Omicron Group Pilot
Advanced Sensors
Engine Upgrade
Ion Cannon
Col. Vessery
Ion Cannon
Highlights included smashing a rebel swarm and successfully ioning another VT-49 off the board. :-D
Made a complete botch of things in finals. Silly mistake after mistake. Pants-on-head.
Learning lots though, so no big deal.
The list felt pretty good. Rebel Captive could be Mara, but makes an acceptable stand-in since I don't own her.
I need more points to work with... am awaiting the advent of Flechette Cannon with bated breath.
@webguy20 and I were able to get our match in tonight.
Since I haven't really been able to get my A-Wing swarm working like I'd like it to, I went back to my old standby of Luke, Garven, and Kyle, who were matched against two loaded transports: Chewie in the Falcon and Dash in the Outrider. My first worry was whether or not I'd be able to chew through that huge wall of hull and shield points before my ships were picked apart.
Luckily, I was able to hack Vassal roll well when it really, really mattered, and I was able to get a win against a very determined opponent.
There were numerous points throughout where one or another move or roll really changed the entire course of the game. Early on, I was able to get a second ion token on a de-shielded-but-otherwise-fine Dash while he was facing the edge of the board - barrel rolling back and to the left on his ion move was all that saved Dash from a quick trip off the board; his next move had all of an inch of space between Dash and oblivion.
Then, a little later, Luke got caught on an asteroid that prevented him from focusing, which had Dash and his Opportunist autoblaster turret just salivating ... only for Dash to come up with just enough hits to finish de-shielding Luke but come short of killing him. Then, Chewie got in the way, and it looked like Luke was going to run into Chewie, be forced to back up, and then end up back on the same asteroid, but luckily I went with a 2-speed green ahead instead of a 1, so Luke got a shield back and parked himself behind Chewie - who proceeded to try for a range-1 turret shot that Luke largely avoided. A couple rounds later, and some time flying casual brought Luke's shields back up to full.
Late in the match, Luke dropped a 4-dice, range 1 Focused and Target Locked attack into Chewie for 2 hits and 2 blanks, rerolled into 4 hits. Chewie, who was double-focused thanks to his Recon Specialist, failed to dodge any of it. Then Chewie returned fire with 4-dice attacks for two rounds in a row, but failed to take out Luke (who at that point had 2 shields and 1 hull left and was only rolling 2 defense dice, but that's all you need when you get super lucky and roll either 1 evade 1 focus or 2 evades each time).
Barrel rolling transports are ridiculous; they come out of nowhere!
I think Kyle actually put the majority of the damage on Dash with his ion turret; he continues to really be the squad's MVP. Shield regenning Luke and Garven are really, really hard to knock down while Kyle's keeping them supplied with crack Focus tokens - especially when Garven just hands them back over and over again. I think Kyle had, like, 8 or so stored on him at the end of the game?
Thanks for the great game, webguy20, and thanks for letting me roll awesome defense dice tonight.

It was a great game. There were a couple points where I had one of your guys in my sights and due to excellent rolls on your part you were able to escape to fight another day!
Your build really works well together, with being able to fling focus tokens around each character. It completely neutralized my opportunist card on Dash.
I think I should have focused on the hawk first, but your X-wings presented better targets that first combat. Oh well!
I think I should have focused on the hawk first, but your X-wings presented better targets that first combat. Oh well!
Yeah, if I ever face a mirror match, that's kind of where I'm leaning. Kyle's the glue that really holds the squad together, and his ion turret is low-damage-but-high-accuracy-and-super-annoying. It's almost a guaranteed damage per-round against any low-dodge ships, because Kyle will almost always have focus tokens to throw at it.

yea, it was funny, I actually really liked having leebo on the falcon, because if you gave me an ion token, I could then boost in a direction I wanted then take the 2nd ion token. It let me decide where I would be screwed. It came in handy at least once.
The Imperial Assault IG-88 poster is pretty hot, too.

So I might get to test my (lacking) skills at a store tourney in a few days. This is the list I'm currently toying with in my head:
"Leebo"
Determination
Heavy Laser Cannon
Lando Calrissian
Outrider
Tactical Jammer
Biggs Darklighter
R2-F2
Airen Cracken
Squad Leader
Cracken spams his ability and Squad Leader to give both Biggs and Leebo double actions (or triple, should Biggs die), Biggs parks himself as close to Leebo as possible to either force folks to target him with R2-F2 active through Leebo's obstruction, and Leebo with both Lando and Determination becomes even without Biggs's aid pretty difficult to put a real dent in.
I really like the Tactical Jammer/Biggs combination, that's pretty clever. Same with Leebo/Determination if it works like I think it does?
I'm not a big fan of Lando though honestly (the card I mean!), he's a little more risky than I think you want at a tournament. Proton Rockets might be a good substitute, since they help fill that range 1 blind spot.
The only real issue I can think of is there's not a lot of damage output there- Biggs is probably going to be using his actions defensively or staying back, and Airen doesn't do much damage either, but Leebo should be able to keep the HLC running, so if you can keep formation well I think it'll work fine.

Aye, Leebo+Determination does work like I think it does. Take a crit? Use Leebo to draw two cards, then simply pick a Pilot one and promptly discard it, damage free.
And yeah, Lando may be risky thinking about it... though if it works it'd be pretty sweet. Then again, you're right about the blind spot, and with Cracken riding alongside I won't be too worried about the needed focus token.
And yeah, not much damage output, but the hopeful goal is that Leebo would be able to dish out enough mostly on his own, considering that if I avoid too many fuckups I can really mitigate the amount of damage my team is actually going to take.

It's okay, it's out of stock already.
Yeah, I already have both those ships, but at 50% off, it would have been hard to turn down if they were still available.
