Frog's theme is better. As is Magus' theme.

Frog's Theme is my favourite track in any video game.
Nah. Neither is as pure to me. I actually get super sick of Frog's theme pretty easily. Magus' is amazing but is dark enough that I need to be in a mood to really enjoy it
The Zeal theme is auditory perfection, any time of the day.

I thought I was fighting the fucking boss of the game the first time I got to Magus.
Just...the way they time his speech with his music.
The way it just KICKS INTO SECOND GEAR ALL OF A SUDDEN
AND NEVER LETS UP
(The fact that he is built up more than Lavos for the majority of the run up to that point helped)

When I was little, I was obsessed with Frog's Theme.
Singing Frog's Theme, Frog's Theme alarm clock.
I learned to play Frog's Theme on the piano and I don't even know how to play the piano.

Wait, are you a bigger fan of the Zeal theme or Schala's theme?

I mean, Schala's theme isn't a remix. It does only get played a few times.
It makes great use of the Stereo audio though, as does the final battle music. Which is great for how unexpected it is.
EDIT: Like, put on headphones and listen to the final battle theme. It will make you feel like you are in a time vortex.

The stereo aspect of the final boss last phase is super cool, though

Ahahahahahaha.
Even the commentary is all "We aren't going to talk over the music."
Perfect.

YellowKillerBee ran Mickey Mania, nitnat ran Castle of Illusion HD, and withhelde used to run during marathons but I think the larger audience makes her nervous so she just attends it now to hang out.

And yes, there have been quite a few couch commentators, but I'm sure some of them are the runner's girlfriend and may not necessarily run the game.

I wish frog would start freaking the fuck out when you get the ruby knife.
Edit: also, since I name him Glenn in basically every play through, I forget what he shouts as he slices the mountain, if he uses the PC name or Glenn.

Second biggest twist.

Third at best, you've got PSIV/FFVII tied above that.

FF7 does NOT have a bigger twist than Chrono Trigger, and I will fight you to death on this.

Geeze, so much fucking money this game gets for little silly things. It's great.
I mean, it doesn't beat 350k in a battle for the lives of virtual animals....but one guy paying 52k just to name Magus might be my favorite moment.

FF7 does have a few big plot twists. Aeris dying isn't one of them. Some parts of it are hard to figure out because they're not explained well and they're really convoluted.
The first big twist is that the Sephiroth you chase for the first half of the game is both not the real Sephiroth and not even one individual, they're either people who've been infected with Jenova cells or parts of the Jenova cell mass you first see in the tank in the Shinra Building, the one with the eyeball breasts. The real Sephiroth is encased in materia in the northern crater, remotely controlling all the Jenova cells and their hosts.
The second big twist is the story of the mission in Nibelheim when Sephiroth went insane. First you find out that Cloud wasn't really there, he was just placing himself in the narrative in Zack's place. But then the double twist is that he was there, he was one of the faceless Shinra grunts, but he was too ashamed that he hadn't made the cut for SOLIDER to reveal himself to anyone in town. Which is how he knew about all the things that happened in the earlier, confused version of the story. The reason he remembered the story wrong was that Hojo broke his mind doing experiements with mako and Jenova cells on his and Zack's mortally wounded bodies afterwards.

Schala's Theme is in a really awesome remix I'm very fond of but isn't even in my top 10 or 15 CT songs
It makes great use of the Stereo audio though, as does the final battle music. Which is great for how unexpected it is.

Mashup would probably be a better term, though.
Well that's better than I thought, but worse than I'd hoped.
