Well, mine did okay. Stomped up and tanked a missile launcher from a Notifier, then murdered the bugger. Killed Kornak, the centre of the table was then pretty much their turf and nobody could push them out. I feel that they are walls of metal but that they are also pretty dangerous buggers as well, cheap firepower with close ranged options. Very much big dogs, but not anything more than that. Two, though, just felt redundant. But perhaps I was underestimating the extent to which two of them turn a surmountable problem into a defensive brick.
I think they are great when it comes to conventional firefights but not so good at dealing with enemy ambush and such. Which is typical of Corregidor really, they do aggressive, fast strikes from odd angles (camo, infiltrating, AD etc) against enemy firebases and then rely on high BS and solid ARM to keep them alive in a weakened counter-attack. As opposed to Bakunin, who are more tricksy on the offence and use more equipment, modifiers, infowar, deployables and such on the defence. I like Geckos, but it just seems like more than one becomes an over-focus. A full squadron of four would be cool mind!
I think Corregidor are Nomads because I can't actually think of what other faction they are like. I mean, they aren't like Bakunin, but they aren't like anyone else either!
Corregidor is the grumpy adult in the Nomad anime. The working guy.
While all the wacky Bakunin cat-girls/nuns/hentai addicts get up to their shenanigans and the Tunguska nerds hacks into government systems on their crazy room-sized mish-mash of tech/tries to make a fortune illegally playing the stock market from their bedroom, Corregidor tries to watch the game on tv and have a beer. It's been a long day what with working at the factory and selling a bit of weed after. Maybe he'll call up Janine and see if she wants to fool around later.
And I think that's the core of why I like corregidor so much. They're the more sensible down to earth ship which is the bedrock of nomad civilisation which allows the other two ships to do their thing more or less unimpeded.
In other news, I like TAGs. Been stomping my Guijia around and it's shot a bunch of things. I enjoy it.

I miss using a TAG. I've only ever used my Tohaas Gorgos. I'm finishing up my old Maghariba because I need to get in some TAG action. I don't have the awesome new Maggy, and I have a thing about playing only fully painted stuff now. So the old Maggy gets some table love until I get the new one and paint it.
As awesome as new Maggie is, I still love the aesthetic of the old one too. Give her some love. Pushing a TAG around is just fun.

The old girl is finally back together at least. I've spent the day getting the underbelly done (the legs have been done a while). Still got a lot of work on the body. Lots of green and tan highlighting, and the yellow. Guns will go on when they're done as well.

Whelp index up coming second in the league after losing my last game pretty badly. Djanbazan link teams seem like Steel Phalanx krypton items if you aren't going first. Still 7 wins 1 loss is a pretty respectable tally. Especially since I decided I hated the army and stopped playing then outside of my mandated 1 league game. Now I can drop them like a bad habit and focus on Yu Jing.
In related news my Guijia cannot stop killing things.
Nimbus Grenades are good against MSV2 link teams, man. The Zone's Reflective -3 to hit and -1 B hits the reactive link much harder than, say, a Myrmidon Spitfire (becomes B 4 at BS 9 vs B 1 at BS 12, which is way better odds than B 5 at BS 12 vs B 2 at BS 15)
Nowadays I always like to fit Nimbus Grenades into lists if I think I am going to come up against MSV links, especially with Steel Phalanx.
Hmm I have been thinking on Nimbus grenades a bit recently. I honestly didn't even consider them, or a KHD on Scylla or Drakios and his Albedo, or a bunch of other things that I could have used to stop them. Chalk it up to experience I guess.
Oh well, done with SP for now. All glory to Yu Jing!

Funnily enough I still have no Djanbazan because the models are so disjointed. The AP rifle and HMG are typical 1st edition chunky. The hacker is typical 2nd edition overcompensatingly thin and small. The sniper is great, but I don't want to buy him because when they inevitably do a resculpted link, there's little chance that model will remain since the Haqqislam sniper rifle has been redesigned. And I've got enough old models lying around that have been resculpted and relegated to cabinet duty.

You don't have the Qapu Khalqi box? That's the main reason I would expect someone to have a Djanbazan. :P

No. By the time they released it I already had the Spitfire Odalisque, didn't want a double, so I cherry picked the models from it I wanted. Which was the Hafza and the Al Hawwa.
That looks super solid other than only having one hacker for that many remotes and said hacker being in the link team (which can make activating just him to boost people an oppotunity to get Wu Ming shot).
The amount of impetuous combined with a pain train running at people is definitely going to cause some shock and awe which should leave room for the Rui Shi to exploit.

Mayacast August releases:
Djanbazan box
Female Bandit Hacker
Female Phesant
Meverick box
Black Friar Multi Rifle
Fucking finally we get redone Djanbazan. How to see if they match the sniper in the QK starter and the female hacker or are an entirely new design. I'm betting on a new design.

Pretty pictures of the August releases from Gencon! There was also a lot of other stuff shown and told at gencon which I don't have time to get into.
Are they getting a whole new profile? Garuda are definitely not S5.
Yes. CB said that while the OSS made the cut to get into the next book (which has been cut in half, only 1 sectorial per army now), there's a lot of unit redesigns happening. Essentially what they did to Morats. Some units getting new profiles, probably everything getting new models.
Hey guys, been a while since I've been in this thread. So I picked up Operation Ice Storm last year so I'd have something to paint while I was looking for a job, and never got around to playing with it (also got a job within days of ordering it). Moved to Texas and made friends with a 40k player and taught him Infinity, and now we're both hooked.
What are some good purchases for expanding? He's planning on picking up a Jotum, I'm split between the Lizard (HGL is nice) and Geckos (easier to fit in list). Past that, I'm looking at a Custodier, Spitfire Prowler, Lunokhod, Sin Eater (mk12 probably), and that two-pack of Hellcats (the HMG and hacker). PanO advice for my friend would be neat, too.
Also: ooooh shiiit that bandit is hella sweet def gonna get her
Also2: What's some good, cheap terrain? Already got some Ice Storm boxes I've beefed up with poster board, thinking of getting this pack from Zen.

As long as that terrible Proxy box gets redesigned I'll be happy buying models I already own...

If you don't mind the stuff you got in Icestorm, you can buy that terrain set itself really cheap. Another 2 or 3 would fill a board out. The various terrain makers for the game aren't very cheap. If you want different stuff in the style of the Mototronica stuff from Icestorm, Plastcrafts T.M.E terrain fits in. You can get it plain white to paint yourself or printed so you just build it. I recommend the printed stuff, I use it for Malifaux. it's nice. It's about 50% more than the plain white uildings though. Plastcraft stuff tends to be cheaper than MDF terrain as well.

It's not nomads if your turn doesn't sound like a yu-gi-oh villain explaining his perfectly laid out game plan and then it only kills one big thing.
You wot m8? You avin' a giggle?
Seriously. My feelings are hurt.
Fortunately I have many burly latino fellas with knives and tattoos to comfort me.
Corrie is the blunt, gunplay based version of the nomad tactic. Which is always to cripple the enemy and then dare them to attack with garbage.

They just do it by shooting things
So many ADHLs
the new maggie loses some of the sweet fuchi/tachikoma vibe
August 4-7. Can't wait to see CB's panel there, they always have good stuff to show at gencon.
I want to at least the concept art for the two remaining Tohaa units for human sphere n3 also BlackJacks.

Other than that honestly with nomads it's ver much a question of what you're interested in.

It was fucking awesome

But yeah there's very few ways you can go wrong with nomads.
But you know, massive Bakunin bias.
