Don't forget the many instances of House's patients lying about symptoms or other medical factors.
To be fair, this actually happens with great frequency. Usually, it's just a lie of omission.
I know. But House had the one guy on the team specifically to break into homes and cars looking for evidence the patient is hiding. Oh, and he was also brain surgery guy.
The show I like with a similar premise to House but a lot less silly is Nurse Jackie.
that's always like #5 on my to watch list so i've never seen it
but i like edie falco and it looks pretty good
It's not bad. It has a pretty strong been-there-done-that feeling to it. You've seen all these narrative elements before. Medical practitioner (sure, a nurse this time rather than a doctor) is brilliant in her professional life but a mess in her personal life. Will-she-or-won't-she reconcile with her husband? Can she heal the strained relationship with her teenage kid? Etc etc etc.
No big narrative risks taken, but nothing blitheringly stupid either.
Feral on
every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

Ehh, the treatment is horribly inaccurate, the diseases tend to be fairly legit, if obfuscated via cherry picking weird presentations.

Fun fact: Every time Frank Borman says "The Saturn V is still the most powerful machine man has ever devised", I'm immediately rock-hard.
