[Game On!] Nexus War 2.0 - Brand new PA faction!

Doctors Without Borders is still around, though it can be hard to find people to heal given the fact that we are sometimes clumped up. On the up side when I last played we had a pretty good rep and even evil factions would occasionally let us alone since we would heal them. Plus attacking evil strongholds only to heal them, give them stuff, and just kind of chat was fun.

Are we all going to zerg, zerg rush on at a particular time? Or should we trickle over and punch them as we feel the need arises?

Sorry randombattle, I set the wheel on aggressive after our stronghold disappeared and apparently it didn't like you. When you get back I'll give you some stuff.

I thought the wheel went away when the stronghold when down..

Well I'm at 0 ap sitting in the hospital at 37,69 so I won't be to the stronghold till like tomorrow.

Nah, it's my pet. I didn't think it would attack mortals, though.

I don't see any reason why we can't kill these guys, especially if the faction is going to be neutral or evil in the future. Their faction is full of squishy shepherds so you low level guys should be able to get some good hits in. I can help beat down the wards, though this character doesn't have a whole lot of combat power.

How much AP do you have, Frem?

Uh, there's a delay before we can remake our stronghold or something. I don't quite remember, but it's not too bad.

I'm currently at 26 AP.

When a standard is captured, the defending faction will automatically have their stronghold revoked and their faction bonuses will be halved. When a standard is retrieved, there are no penalties to the defending faction.

Strongholds can only be created when a faction recovers their standard. This can be achieved through recovering a flag from the raiding faction's stronghold or waiting a period of 24 hours after the flag was taken.

We also gain honor by retrieving a captured standard.

I'm out of AP from kicking the ward as well. Clearly the only solution is to get even more people to come and kick down this door! (or not

It's under combat options -> "Magical ward inside"

Edit: Bah, memorized and it didn't work on the ward inside. ...and now I read the wiki and shouldn't have even wasted my time trying that.

Well, once logged in with your character just visit the faction page and click to join up since the faction is set to open. As for how to play...good question. I'd browse through the classes and figure out where you want to go ultimately. Then just choose whatever feels good and won't be a waste of points in the end. Healing, repairing, reading, and killing are all decent ways to get xp in the beginning.

Edit: And if we need an organized effort to get our flag back, we should really designate an irc channel for those moments.

I definitely am able to and want to help with organizing things, although I don't feel particularly qualified because

you can find bows in a gun store. you can also find them in Paradise in Cottages. That'll probably be the best place for them.

I'll look into the irc thing later tonight then so that we have something handy for tomorrow.

As for taking over...I usually flake out after a week or two no matter what game I'm playing. If you really need to change leadership, I can take over for a short time, but someone else would need to step up within a week after that. Right now I'm still very, very rusty.

So I have three characters on the verge of tier 3. One set to be a VW, another that I may turn into an Eternal Soldier, and a third that's a caster of some sort.

My VW and caster are guilded, but my Myrmidon (19, nearly 20. I enjoy playing this character the most) has been running around guildless, chopping everyone up without worry of ganking allies.

Would the PA guild raid enough to justify tossing his hat in with them?

The wiki has a section about ranged weapons that includes where they can be found. Early on, gun stores are probably the best place to look, as the archery specific attack skills have Ranged Combat as a pre-req, and so you can grab a bunch of guns and such that you might also be able to make use of. And as hoodie13 said, cottages (and stone huts) are a nice place to look for bows, not so much for the bow search rates, but because quivers of arrows are somewhat easy to find there as well.
