I love nothing in this world like I love A Charlie Brown Christmas, and while I commend Eddy for the Sufjan, the best Sufjan Christmas song is "Did I Make You Cry On Christmas Day? (Well You Deserved It)."
Yep, it's time for the "War on Christmas" bullshit.
Now, if you'll excuse me, there's a wall that I need to pound my head into. Repeatedly.
That is a terrible article and I should ban you for making me read it.
Man, I always miss these discussions. If you don't mind, I'd like to drag this one up again. If you do, ignore this post.
Dennis Prager was gushing all over the place about this article going "See? Even the Wall Street Journal admits religion is the answer! This just proves that religious people are more moral and would have been more responsible and felt more remorse about bad loans and so would have tried to correct them." He then rounds it out neatly by placing the blame of the crisis on the "de-religioning" of America.

I got the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack last year and listened to it so much that Vince Guaraldi Trio was the top artist on my Last.FM page. I had to clear my profile's data in order to get it back to representing the kind of music I really listen to.
My song wasn't from Charlie Brown Christmas or Vince Guaraldi, go listen to it.
(I do love me some Vince Guaraldi though - it's my one exception to only liking christmas music within 10 days of christmas. That and stuff like 'what child is this' and 'carol of the bells'.)

Of this I am aware. The first time I heard it, I wasn't really fond of it, but the more that I hear it the more I enjoy it.
Also, while we're on the topic of Christmas songs, "Old City Bar" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra breaks my heart every time I listen to it.

I think I could handle just about any christmas music if it was Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Also, I think I would dress up as Mrs. Claus if Wal-Mart would blast the South Park Christmas Album on Black Friday.
Or Jeff Foxworthy.
OR ANYTHING BUT ELEVATOR MUSIC..... grrrrrr.
Also, I noticed something bizarre. I know more words to the constant christmas carols than my very religious (ie Christian) coworker. She bubbles on and on about how much she loves christmas, and the music and the lights and the happiness and jesus jesus jesus.
But she doesn't know the words to Silent Night. Or Oh, Holy Night.
Australian christmas is cool. Huge legs of ham, roast chicken and roast turkey, my nans peorogi and golumpki. Also lots of beer. This year im going to the coast with my folks and sister to eat heaps of seafood and drink beer, should be good.

So. Die Hard. Great christmas movie or Greatest Christmas Movie?
Clearly the latter.
Mike's best Christmas movies (pulling from Wikipedia):
Home Alone / Home Alone 2
Miracle on 34th Street
The Muppet Christmas Carol
(National Lampoon's) Christmas Vacation
The Santa Clause
Scrooged
The Nightmare Before Christmas
A Charlie Brown Christmas / It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown!
A Christmas Carol (1999 - Patrick Stewart)
Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the original, not the Jim Carrey movie)
Olive the Other Reindeer
If Die Hard is a Christmas movie, then the first Lethal Weapon is ALSO a Christmas movie.

List fails for no mention of "A Christmas Story." No holiday is complete without a mention of "You'll shoot your eye out!"

A Christmas Story is one of the worst movies ever. Ever.
No winter holidays. It blows. It's the time of year everyone fucking needs a holiday, too.

I think my favorite Xmas song is the Jackson Five rendition of Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.

I don't understand how anyone could not have seen A Christmas Story. It's become an icon of the holiday. In the states, there is a cable channel which plays the fucking thing for 24 hours straight every year. It's like saying you're unfamiliar with Dark Side of the Moon.

I thought the whole point of the dark side of the moon is that nobody ever saw it, so how could anyone be familiar with it? Maybe Neil Armstrong or something.
There are people who don't like A Christmas Story?
Holy fucking Hell that movie's great.

"A Christmas Story" and its sequel, "Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss" (about the family going on summer vacation) achieve levels of awesome that Chevy Chase and National Lampoon can only dream about.
I'd never heard of A Christmas Story before. Perhaps the BB gun thing didn't catch on in Australia.

I've never seen Christmas Story.
And Carol of the Bells on the Flute:: Cause I was in the band in middle school and I played the flute. That was one of the songs for our "Holiday Concert"... Of course, there was only one hannukah song, and it wasn't even one that I knew.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas is the best Christmas movie ever. It's something that my dad demands we all sit down and watch as a family every year. He loves the Grinch.

The version dubbed over with the voices from "Scrubs" is also awesome.

Carol of the Bells is just awesome to listen to. But a bitch to play on the flute.

Does Mel Gibson ever send a body anywhere with "Ho-ho-ho. Now I have a machine gun" written on it?
