I was hoping for a discounted original game + DLC deal on psn, but if the original psn game drops to $20 then I suppose its good enough. (I can wait another 2 weeks)
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.
Picked this up today on PS3. (brand new for $20)
The update is taking forever to download, is this normal? Usually updates are a lot faster, this one is just ridiculous. I want to play!:x
there have been a ton of additions since release, including a bunch of new cars and bikes and stuff. its probably a pretty big patch at this point.
hit me up online if you see me on, ive been playing a bunch of burnout again recently. i lost my old save and im trying to 100% everything again. im coming up on getting the burnout elite license again, and then i just gotta do the harder paradise awards (or whatever theyre called) and the bike shit again. and however much online stuff i get around to. so yea, i'll be on heh.
Is it possible to play your own music during this game?
Yes, it was always there on the 360 but the PS3 version got the ability through an update. Go to easy drive, it should be the last option, named "soundtrack".

Awesome, thanks. I don't own it yet, but with all this content, I may just take the plunge on the 360...having the ability to play your own music just makes the decision that much easier.
Perhaps my second favorite mode of old Burnout games (Crash being first) Pursuit Mode will be making an eventual return to Burnout. Sure, we have Road Rage and Marked Man already, but Pursuit was the shit.
I am really amazed at the amount of support and DLC Criterion has given this game. Good fucking show.
...Shame that the site seeems to think that the police car shown is new, considering it's the Hunter Citizen; to be honest, they could do with one that handles better... and the PCPD Special doesn't count, before anyone says it. :P

I was just checking Best Buy online and found they are selling it for 20 bucks also....I guess I have no reason not to buy it for that price.
I wish the PSN version was that price. (it's still $30). Yes, I already have this on 360 but since my 360 can't play online anymore (doesn't play well with the router) I figured it would be better to get it on PS3 and start all over when the new DLC drops.
supposedly the PSN version is getting a price drop when they release the fancy new disc version that includes all the DLC with it. thats the rumor anyway.
So, I remember playing a Burnout on the PS2 with my brother ages ago and we had tons of fun with a local co-op mode that just put your car perpendicular to a heavily trafficked road and you got points for creating the most destruction. Will I find that kind of fun in this one?

thats crash mode, and its not included in this particular version of burnout. but! you should get it anyway because its totally awesome. and cheap.
and awesome.
Yeah, I just found it incredibly cheap at a local store, but I'm not big on just racing games..
EDIT: Also everyone. Ultimate driving music is Kyuss. That's Kyuss.
kyuss is an acceptable answer. throw in some QOTSA, Slo Burn, Unida, Torche, High On Fire... yea thats a party right there.
also this game is just as ridiculous and crash happy and over the top as past burnout games, i assure you. its anything but "just a racing game". if you have enjoyed past burnout games theres really no reason not to check out paradise with how cheap it is these days. plus the party pack is coming out soon (next week? i forget) and thats got local multiplayer modes and stuff like that. not simultaneous split screen sadly but its something.

Let me tell you about Demon's Souls....
Party mode looks awesome. The new cars look awesome. I now remember why I always thought Burnout was awesome... because it is.
Adding Burnout PA, 360 players hit me up!

Blind Guardian, Dragonforce, pretty much any fantasy metal. It makes every race a race for the survival of humanity.
Haha, I could see Dragonforce making the races really stressful in an escape from New York kind of way. :P
I would probably end up racing to Van Halen quite a bit.

Screaming down the road knocking cars out of the way while pumping Dragula? Yes thank you.
I'm waiting for Rob Zombie to remix it.
