Man I can't wait for L4D2. I've been pining for new official campaigns ever since I started trying to play 3rd party campaigns and somehow always wind up with a slightly different version as my friends. Valve needs some sort of process for 3rd party mappers if only for version control.
Also I heard the L4D2 campaigns are going to be longer, and have a story, which are benefits in my opinion.
So, in conclusion, this is the thread to talk about L4D, L4D2, and how awesome they are/going to be (except for Australians, who apparently have the worst government ever).
haha, I dismissed Lacabra when he was trying to tell me about what was going on with his campaign/Newell over AIM, then when I got home I was looking through Kotaku and was like hoooly crap!
SO EXCITED for L4D2. Even if I do have to make do with the lowly xbox version
Well this is somewhat dumb, so just after the whole LaCabra getting Newell to visit Brisbane/boycotting thing, seems like Joe won't even get to play L4D2 anyway, so it's all a moot point!
Seriously. Who deems this kind of content unfit for millions of adults?
I wouldn't mind but it's y'know, AUSTRALIA

They haven't deemed it unfit for adults. They've deemed it unfit for 16 year olds.
Australia has this loopy system where there's no Adults Only rating for video games, despite there being one for film. It means if a game is more violent than an M15+, it's illegal to sell.
But get this loophole: it's not illegal to own or import, provided it would not be objectional to an adult. So if it would have earned an R18 rating (if such a thing existed), you can buy it from an online store in NZ and get it shipped to you, perfectly legally, and customs can't interfere. Which is pretty much what people do.
