This was a great game, I'd totally play it again with minimal changes.

I totally lucked out in terms of build order.

Day1: Barracks (improved units built at this city)
Day2: Knights (extra vig, causes war)
    Day3: Boogedyboo got Musketeers (seer)
Day4: Tank (extra vig, doesn't cause war)

I sent in the order to kill Wildcat with the knights and captial ability before being told I was given tanks so they stayed at home. So on the last night I could have sent the scouts to Wildcat, and the knights and tank to the celts and wiped them out. And been the sole non-Babylon survivor, but I'm not a jerk :P

I wish the Egyptians would have had better contact with the Persians because we would have won last (I think). Also, thanks for the alliance building by my teammates, it allowed me to hide and kill people.

Also, I think that publicizing the possible unit/improvement list ahead of time likely wouldn't have negatively impacted things. It probably didn't need to be a secret.

    Starting PMs:

    Romans
You are the Governor of A Mighty Roman City!

The Romans are a proud and strong civilization, with a warlike ideology that holds them in good stead against their placid and feeble neighbours. Developing in the area of modern Italy, they soon spread their influence outwards, putting all who stood in their way to the sword. Let it not be said that the Romans were without culture though, as they helped develop and shape many ailing lands using their wisdom of construction and engineering. Be faithful Roman, because with some perseverance you may overturn the two societies that still stand in your way; the wild Celtic tribes to the north, and the bizarre Egyptians to the south. Once they are out of the picture, a global Roman Empire would surely be at hand.

You are in conflict with The Celts and the Egyptians. You will be victorious when these enemies are defeated, and there are no other ongoing conflicts between other civilizations.

    Greeks
You are the Governor of A Majestic Greek City!

The Greeks are masters of many areas; they revolutionised the arts, the sciences, philosophy and government. Truly, they are one of the most culturally advanced civilizations of this age. So why, pray tell, should they not spread across the land and enlighten all under this banner? After all, there is also a great military present in Sparta to defend the lands. You, Greek Governor, must help your people thrive and expand. The only way this can happen is for the destruction of your rival civilizations, the Egyptians and the Babylonians, to be realised. It is then that there will finally be a Golden Age among men.

You are in conflict with The Babylonians and the Egyptians. You will be victorious when these enemies are defeated, and there are no other ongoing conflicts between other civilizations.

    Egyptians
You are the Governor of A Grand Egyptian City!

The Egyptians are perhaps the noblest of peoples, having risen from the sand in the desert thousands of years ago to build a civilization that’s architecture and religion will fascinate for many more millennia to come. From the rocky hills of the south to the Niles fertile plains in the south, your lands also have an unmistakeable beauty. You have expanded readily across much of northern Africa, and are now ready to take the northern lands of Europe, specifically, the proud and arrogant Romans and Greeks. You have the blessing of your Gods and the Chariots and Galleys are ready.

You are in conflict with The Romans and the Greeks. You will be victorious when these enemies are defeated, and there are no other ongoing conflicts between other civilizations.

    Babylonians
You are the Governor of A Magnificent Babylonian City!

Governor, as you lounge in your hanging gardens, you feel an overwhelming sense of peace and tranquillity. As far as you could be concerned, everything is right and good in the world. However you must face facts; these are tough times and the Babylonian people must be protected from them. You have thrived here in the cradle of Civilization, but if you are going to prosper then you must see to it that The nearby Persian peoples do not put you into submission. You must also assure that the culturally gifted Greeks be eliminated, so they may outshine you no longer.

You are in conflict with The Greeks and the Persians. You will be victorious when these enemies are defeated, and there are no other ongoing conflicts between other civilizations.

    Persians
You are the Governor of A Thriving Persian City!

Your people have come from the East, an area that will one day be known as Iran, and little has been able to stop you since then. Your unique culture and customs make you exotic in the eyes of your allies, and terrifying in those of your enemies. Your military prowess is also not to be underestimated; you have taken a large area of Asia Minor and are now approaching the east of Europe. Only two obstacles remain before you become truly and unmatched force in this world. To the northwest, The Germanic Goths are at your borders. And even closer are the Babylonians, those inferior people who these lands would be better off without.

You are in conflict with The Germans and the Babylonians. You will be victorious when these enemies are defeated, and there are no other ongoing conflicts between other civilizations.

    Celts
You are the Governor of a Fledgling Celtic City!

It’s a tough life, being a Celt. The land is often barren and the weather is unforgiving. But you are a people who thrive in adversity, who bloom in hardship. As a civilization you may not be one of the big contenders on size, population, military might or even advanced culture, but what you lack in those you make up for in sheer force of will and determination. Having tamed these wilds lands you are ready to face your enemies; the encroaching Roman menace and the Germanic Goths, both of which seek to see you subjugated and grovelling at their feet. Have pride, Celt, as soon it shall be them who will be grovelling to you!

You are in conflict with The Romans and the Germans. You will be victorious when these enemies are defeated, and there are no other ongoing conflicts between other civilizations.

    Germans
You are the Governor of a Growing German City!

The Goths; the dark horse of these lands, you reside in the area that will one day make up North-eastern Europe. It cannot be questioned that you have some deal of military prowess, as you have consistently held back anyone brave or foolish enough to attempt an invasion of the land that is rightfully yours. You also have a fine culture; maybe not one that will be as memorable as other civilizations in the millennia to come, but distinctive none the less. To truly cement your place in history, the Celtic tribes to your west and the Persian Empire to your east must both fall.

You are in conflict with The Celts and the Persians. You will be victorious when these enemies are defeated, and there are no other ongoing conflicts between other civilizations.

    Regular Capital
You are also the Leader of the Capital City!

The administrative, military and cultural centre of your civilization, as Leader you have control over your Empire’s military forces. It is your duty to make sure that they scout out enemy locations quickly and efficiently, so that their cities may be crushed beneath your feet.

Once per night you may target a city that you want to send your armies to. If it is the city of one of your enemies, an attack will take place. Catching them off guard, you would surely destroy the city. However, if your army marches on a city belonging to a civilization that you are not the enemy of, the army will turn around and return, with no attack taking place.

    Roman Capital
You are also the Leader of the Capital City!

Here, the Roman Senate is held, and you are the Leader and Consul which oversees it. The senate is an influential force, even on the world stage. Through diplomacy, intimidation and will, you are able to stop the scouting parties of other civilizations in their tracks by issuing swift orders to the Roman guards.

Once per night you may target a city. This city’s vote that night will be negated, allowing you to further the Roman cause.

    Roman Legions
You also have a unit garrisoned!

The Roman Legions are a symbol of awe and fear in much of the world, as they are almost unsurpassed in their military prowess. A Legion can march across continents, devastating any city that stands in its way using the Roman ethic of discipline and training.

Once a night you may target another city. The Legion will attack it, destroying it and removing it as a possible threat to the mighty Roman Empire.

    Egyptian Charioteers
You also have a unit garrisoned!

The sight of the Egyptian Charioteers tearing across the deserts strikes fear into the heart of most men, and for good reason; they are some of the fastest combat forces on earth, being able to strike an enemy like lightning. Armies can only watch as the harbingers of death race towards their lines before cutting through them as if they were linen.

Once a night you may choose a city. You can then choose another city. Your charioteers will divert the enemy forces, driving the actions of the first city onto the second city. You must specify which city is being driven onto which, as this ability only works in one direction.

    Greek Diplomat
You also have a unit garrisoned!

The Greek Diplomat is the sort of figure who gains respect from people of all nationalities; they are intelligent, articulate and charismatic. If the Greeks need something done, or need influence abroad, they know that they can rely on their well cultured ambassadors to make a good impression on anyone the meet.

Every night, your vote counts as 3.

    Babylonian Spies
You also have a unit garrisoned!

The Babylonian Spies are some of the most well trained operatives in the world. After years of studying the language and culture of other civilizations, they are able to blend seamlessly into their cities’ infrastructures, learning valuable secrets for the Persian leaders.

Every night, you may spy on a city. You will learn the civilization that this city belongs to, as well as any units that they may have garrisoned within their walls.

    Persian Phalanx
You also have a unit garrisoned!

The Persian Phalanx is perhaps one of the best defensive forces available to any city. With their spears, strong armour and large shields, They march in strong tight formations. They are effective at blocking enemy entrance into cities, making it an extremely valuable garrisoned unit.

Every night, you may target a city. This city will be protected from any attacking armies, except for the vote. You may target yourself if you so choose.

    Celtic Workers
You also have a unit garrisoned!

The Celts pride themselves on their work ethic, and this can be seen no more clearly than in the quality of their workers. From farm labourers to miners, they are hardy and determined, and without a doubt always get the job done.

Once per night you may PM me a message and a city you would like to send it to. This message will then be sent anonymously to that city via me.

    German Axmen
You also have a unit garrisoned!

Although the German Axmen might be confused with Barbarians at first sight, they have an exceptional grasp of discipline and tactics to add to their brute strength. These Woodsman warriors specialise in skirmishes and ambushes, striking the enemy armies where they least expect it.

Once per night, you may target a city. Any action they try to make will be blocked as you ambush them. Unfortunately, to maintain the element of surprise, you may only strike at any city more than once during the game.

    Improvements:

    City Walls
These City Walls provide you with protection! The next time you are attacked, the walls will take the impact for you and be destroyed, leaving you safe.

    Temple
Units can now freely move to and from this city from others with no ill consequence. When you want to move a unit, I will need a PM from the person wanting to move the unit and the person wanting to receive the unit.

    Barracks
Any units constructed in this city will now be significantly more powerful than they would usually be.

    Library
Once per night, you may target a faction. You will then learn all of the units and improvements that faction currently posseses, but not who in particular owns them.

    Courthouse
For tonight only, any abilities made against members of your faction by non-enemy units will be negated.

    Bank
For today only, any abilities held by members of your faction may target twice as many cities as they usually would.

    University
Any future improvements built in this city are greatly upgraded.

    Fortress
You now have a one off guard against enemy attacks. Once it is used, it will be gone.

    SAM Battery
Any units that target this city with abilities will now be destroyed before the ability can take effect. This does not offer protection against a capital kill.

    Mass Transit System
Any member of your faction can now freely use any units or improvements belonging to other team mates.

    Units:

    Catapult
Catapult - Once per night, you may target a city. Any units or improvements in that city will be destroyed.

    War Elephant
Your vote for Raiding parties now counts as 2.

    Archer
You may target 3 people. You will then learn what improvements or units each of these 3 people have, but not their faction.

    Missionary
You now have a one off oppurtunity to offer peace to one of your existing enemies. If they accept, you must then declare war on their other foe.

You can choose to use this at any time while your city still stands.

    Knights
You may now kill one player a night, regardless of their faction. Be warned though, that attacks against neutral factions may lead to them declaring war on you.

    Longbowmen
You can use them to guard any city, including yours, but can only be used once.

    Cannon
Once per night you may target a city. All units and improvements in this city will be destroyed.

    Engineer
Once, at any point, you may ask to send an anonymous message to an enemy faction, asking for peace. The terms of the treaty would involve your faction agreeing to declare war on their remaining enemy, while they declare war on your remaining enemy.

    Cavalry
Tonight you may target two cities. The actions of the two cities will be driven onto each other.

    Musketmen
Once a night you may target one city. You will identify its alignment as well as any units and improvements within it.

    Tanks
Your Capital kill can now affect civilizations that are not your enemies, without adverse effects.

well that was a fun ass game.

it was unfortunate that at the time i decided to go fishing for information, spork and dune were the only ones around. also unfortunate that our win conditions matched up perfectly for a 3-way win.

in essence, we tore a huge hole in the game, right out of the gates. the only thing that prevented an earlier win was dune accidentally revealing arivia's role in the main #mafia channel. if that didnt happen, we would have worked with the persians much closer and ended the game much quicker.

spectrum, me thinking you were an enemy was a hunch. a very lucky hunch.

great job egyptians, great job celts, dune, spork: WE DID IT!!! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

excellent game daius, A+++ would buy again. :^:
