edited September 2009 in Graphic Violence
It's time for solicits again. Here are some previews of Marvel's December books. I'll update the thread when the full solicits are released on Tuesday.

Ultimate Comics solicitations from CBR

Advanced solicits from Newsarama

Advanced X-solicits from CBR

When he dies, I hope they write "Worst Affirmative Action Hire, EVER" on his grave. His corpse should be trolled.

There's something very funny about the use of the word "frenemy" in a Warren Ellis solit. Also, I never wondered how Ultimate Peter managed to keep all that hair underneath his mask until now.

I hope by January at least one more Ultimate Comic ongoing or miniseries comes out, sans New Ultimates.

I've been kind of wondering the same about Daken and the Wolverine costume lately.

    26 X-Titles released in December.

And it looks like the final part of the Messiah trilogy will be called "X-Men: Second Coming"

For some reason "X-Men: Mama Mia Messiahs!" just didn't work real well.

Unless X-Men: Second Coming is another one of these events that aren't really events like Necrosha is.

    From the Cable solicit:
    CABLE #21
    Written by DUANE SWIERCZYNSKI
    Penciled by HUMBERTO RAMOS,
    LAN MEDINA & PAUL GULACY
    Cover by MARKO DJURDEVIC
    “HOMECOMING,” PART 1
PRELUDE TO “X-MEN: SECOND COMING” EVENT!
From the moment Cable jumped into the time stream with the infant “mutant messiah,” he's had only one goal: keep Hope alive until she can choose her own destiny. But now, stranded on a planet in its death throes, eating fried rat on a stick for the millionth time, Hope turns to Cable and tells him she's ready to go home. Thus begins “Homecoming,” the penultimate chapter in the X-Men saga that began with “Messiah CompleX.” It's not only zero hour for Cable and Hope, but also for the mutant hunting them, Lucas Bishop, who is rapidly running out of chances to save mutantkind and the world. Because if Hope does make it back to the present, everything changes for the X-Men.

    Wait.

How many times has Jean been resurrected? I just realized that the first time doesn't really count, 'cause she was under a lake.

    Hmmm.

Dies as Phoenix Clone, not really dead, found under a lake. Doesn't count.

Killed by Xorn, resurrected in Endsong. They've been wishy-washy on whether or not she's alive still, but most indicators point to yes with her appearance during the Sisterhood arc, and her you know, not dying during Endsong.

It can't be her! My logic is flawless! You can't second-come if you haven't second-left.

    31_DARK_X_MEN_2.jpg
X-MAN, A.K.A. NATE GRAY IS BACK! Sadly, the X-Men that he first encounters are Norman Osborn's X-Men and they don't like the idea of an Omega-level mutant that won't tow the company line. Do they have a chance of defeating X-Man? And if they don't, what does that mean to Osborn's agenda?

    That's

    Well, under the assumption that
Hood get's ousted, due to losing his powers and his dealings with Loki and Taskmaster is promoted to head of the Evil Initiative

Then it kind of makes sense, but putting Taskmaster at a table with the likes of Doom and Loki is sort of odd.

If Marvel is sincere about putting someone who can easily be a top level threat to anyone (sans Loki) in a prominent position, go for it. Taskmaster is what Bullseye should have been.

Tony's closest friends and lovers have gathered to try and help the man rebuild his shattered consciousness, body, life and legacy...but when Tony gets the call, does he WANT to come back? CAN he...even with Dr. Strange, Master of the Mystic Arts, bridging the gap between the two worlds? And you didn't think the bad guys were going to just sit back and let Tony rest and recuperate, did you?

I am admittedly kind of anti-"Doctor" Voodoo. I like Doctor Strange, and even, I think there are more interesting avenues they could have gone with the Sorcerer Supreme replacement.

But, they did it. So why are they still using ol' Strange? It seems like helping to save Tony would be a good time for Voodoo to help prove himself as the SS in the eyes of the other heroes.

Didn't they show in Marvel Divas that Strange is still working as a super-hero medic despite the loss of his SS-title? Makes sense they'd go with Strange since they'd probably need both his magical and medical backgrounds.

I don't read Marvel Divas because I'm not homosexual or Munch, so this I do not know.

But as to what you said, I suppose that's a possibility. They aren't exactly giving an indication that they're using his medical background when they introduce him as "Master of the Mystic Arts", though.

It doesn't, it just doesn't seem like they've done anything with voodoo since his ascension, but they've done a few things with Strange.

Why bother making him Sorcerer Supreme? You could have just brought him back and used him without giving him the title. [tiny]Because it would have been way more interesting if Wanda got it![/tiny]
