Just got back from the Toy Story double feature in all 3 of the glorious Ds.

toystory1and2trailer3d.jpg

These movies still hold up great, even all these years later. Even by today's standards, the animation is pretty top notch. Yeah, you can tell it's older, but it's still very crisp and smooth. Jessie's song in the second one still gets to me every time.

There's an intermission with little animation bits and trivia.

Also, there was a trailer for Toy Story 3, which will be out next year!

This special showing is only gonna be around for one more week, so you should really go. The 3-D actually works very well.

I would like to see a movie in which the 3D works really well. I think I only ever did that at some amusement park type things and not a real movie.

I imagine it would give you a headache maybe.

Hey, you know, I never did get around to watching the sequel.

Neat, I should see this then.

    edit:
Artreus, I'm pretty convinced that Coraline was planned as a 3D movie at the earliest stages of its adeptation. The use of shallow depth for the "real world" scenes, the transition tunnel growing greater depth, and the exaggerated perspective in the fantastic worlds were an excellent thematic use of 3D.

Whaaa? I never thought there was much romance in these movies

unless you mean some kind of bromance between Woody and Buzz but I hate myself for using that word so I'm gonna go slit my own throat now.

I really did not like the second one. The first one had that cool idea of a toy who thought he was the real deal living with a bunch of toys who knew they were toys. Really want to see how the third turns out.

Sucks no more slinky dog though.

There was barely a romance, man

Granted it was a bit cheesy, but it's a kid's movie and they're toys

the closest thing either movie had to romance was buzz kinda sorta making a move on the cowgirl at the end of 2

I pretty much sat down and watched all of both of these during work the last week.

And every time I pass by and Jessie's song is playing, I stop, watch, and cry a little.

Also....I saw this like a billion years ago and for some reason every time I see Toy Story I think of this. Very very NSFW. Really.

For movies that weren't specifically designed for 3-D effects, these do a pretty good job of using it.

The scenes where the gang is running around in the vent shafts in 2 feel really neat. Feels like a lot of visual depth to the effect there.

    I actually saw this tonight!

the movies are still great, though I would have preferred them in 2D, just because the 3D glasses desaturated the colors a bit and I hate that

    still awesome though

its good! and nowhere on the web yet because its only in 3-D. Here the basic story I can tell
And is going off to college, and the toys are worried whats going to happen to them. He decides to donate them to a local preschool so they can still be loved, because Andy is a pretty rocking dude. But...well preschoolers are assholes to toys. So they decide to bust out and...go somewhere I dunno.

Also Buzz gets broken and reset to Spanish.

the only movie it was made to run on is Toy Story 1&2 3-D. Expect to see a 2D one on Princess and the Frog and Christmas Carol.

Saw this last Sunday, these movies are still phenomenal.

    "Hey look, I'm Picasso!"
    "eeeh I don't get it"
"YOU UNCULTURED SWINE... what are you looking at, ya hockey puck?"

Also didn't notice before (probably cuz I was like 7 when I saw this last), Mr. Potato Head did a kiss-ass motion towards Slinky Dog and it was hilarious.

    And this...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46rIWEgmmQk

Great movies all around, I'm glad I got to see them again. The 3D wasn't totally in your face all the time and added a really cool layer of depth that I was impressed by all the way through.
