    Yeah, Amazon's pre-order discounts have been good lately. I just pre-ordered The Unwritten Vol. 3 for just under $8. I've started to look for good pre-orders as a part of my regular comic purchases.

    That nick and dent has some decent stories worth a look and pickup. Eternals, Ms. Marvel, Iron Man Extremis, GotG hardcovers, it's almost like someone is trying to make the next sales quarter be really good!

    I bought most of Cosmic Marvel and a lot of early Ultimate stuff from TFAW nick/dent sales.

    If I wasn't broke, I'd try to finish out my collection of Cosmic stuff. Also, I haven't had time to read any of it yet.

    I got my order from TFAW today, and for 12 books that were nick and dent, only 2 really had problems; a Marvel Adventures Avengers digest had the top right corner of the cover with a crease and the Spider-Man/Human Torch hardcover had a ding in the bottom left corner like it dropped from someone's hand. Everything else was in normal sexy condition. But at the price they were offering them (4 bucks and 10 bucks), I'll gladly take those nicks.

    I'm going to keep an eye out on these things again because damn, good deals.

    I've picked up quite a few N&D books from TFAW, most come in pretty good condition. Quite a few have black clearance marks along the bottom of the book. Only one has had extensive damage (a Marvel Essentials book had a really torn up cover).

    The annoying thing is I have had several that had electronic security stickers stuck to a page inside the book. I want to scream at whoever put those things there. I have managed to remove them without damaging the page, but it scares me every time.

    They are really, really good deals for someone that cares more about reading than collecting. Sometimes they will have a month-long escalating sale (where books are marked down more as the month moves on). I picked up a few books for 70% off in one of those.

    Man, I've been so good for awhile now and I just blew a ton of money on trades at amazon.

    It was reasonable till I added those, but that's one of the few series I want to duck out for and follow (along with trying to grab Denny O'Neil's question trades before they're out of print).

    Is it worth getting if you don't follow the DCU that closely? The last things I read from DC are Green Lantern/GLC from right before the end of Blackest Night and the first few volumes of Booster Gold.

    Well, I just ordered the Time Masters trade and I heard that it's somewhat related (at least where Booster Gold is concerned), so I've been considering getting it. I didn't realize that it was a maxi-series, though.

    Their tagline is "Daily deals for your inner geek", so I'm assuming it won't be just comic books; right now, however, their daily deal is Invincible Iron Man Omnibus vol.1 for $22.99 ($3 shipping), and their weekly deal is the Walking Dead book 1 HC for $18.99 ($3 shipping).

    I haven't done much research on this (like if they deliver all states, or to other countries, etc.), but it looks like it's sliiightly cheaper than Amazon.

    I wonder how they get the deals, because after all is said and done, it's like $0.40 cheaper than amazon (if you don't pay tax) but I'll get it in two days from Amazon, and can trust them if there is an issue. I like the idea but I wonder if it's really going to pan out.

    Yeah, no idea. This Topless Robot post says that they had Absolute All-Star Superman yesterday for $60 - that's like $13 less than Amazon. I guess this is just one more thing to keep an eye on for an occasional deal.

    The post also gives a 5% discount code - TIMBERCOBRA - that will be good until Sunday.

    Donate $25 to the American Liver Foundation, and receive a black and white, full-figure sketch, featuring a character of your choice, from Chris Giarrusso (Mini Marvels, G-Man).

    He doesn't give an example of what the sketch would look like, but here are some of his convention sketches and such, which should give you an idea.

    RightStuf.com (which seems to primarily sell anime) is having a sale on DC animated stuff (both DCAU and not).

    So, like, Batman Beyond at $14 per season. Teen Titans at $10 per season. JLA/U at $22 per season.

    I can't vouch for the site (never used it before today), but the recommendation came from a friend who buys a lot of anime, and she seemed to trust it. So, I bought basically all the DCAU + Teen Titans stuff they had on sale.

    No idea how long this sale will last.

    The Borders that I live near is going out of business (along with the rest in the country apparently) and they have all the comics and manga marked 40% off. I picked up Hickman's SHIELD hardcover along with the first three trades of Secret Warriors, Secret Avengers volume 2 hardcover, and volume 7 of the Mighty Thor Jurgens reprints. Regarding the Thor reprints I'm hoping I can find the rest for half off at DragonCon.
