The day of mourning was only for federal offices, so UPS and FedEx still delivered. Our shop got their shipment, just late, so when I went in, everything was still on the floor in boxes, and they were checking their invoices. So I just dug through and got what I needed.

You folks should call your shops just to make sure.

Mine always gets shipments in a day late after a holiday on monday like this, it happened on Christmas too. So my store for sure won't get the new comics in until tomorrow. I hate all of you that get your stuff today.

Some shops are earlier on the UPS route, and every once in a while you'll get one that just drives to the local distribution center and picks them up when they're not.

I know some comic book artists and creators were late as well with even turning in their stuff... just saw more than one on their blogs (via livejournal) complaining about the holidays and their vile evilness in making comics late - almost by the very nature of the holidays themselves... perhaps it is the sole purpose of the holidays.

Nightwing is getting a lot better. It still doesn't really make any sense and kind of acknowledges that it doesn't make sense, but doesn't do anything to actually make sense.

I know that the next issue's just going to completely obliterate me through sheer disappointment, but that panel that had him descending on the cable with the light behind him made me want to tear the book into confetti. Not because I was angry, but just because I wanted to dance in the remnants of a book so perfect and beautiful.

Oh yeah, and it looks like Mark Shaw will be taking over the mantle of [spoiler:709c1244d4]Azrael. That's kind of cool, and will hopefully lead to a return of Jean Paul Valley.[/spoiler:709c1244d4]

Guys, X-23:Target X #2 was sexcellent, though I probably feel that way because X-23 is one of my favorite characters and because I like New X-Men. Still, a pretty good read.

Newuniversal was good, if a bit confusing. The guy who I assume will be Starbrand ruined some peoples' day, and some governmental shenanigans are in the works. Also, stolen celebrity likeness count is up to seven, I think.

Finally, after reading GL #15, I've decided to add GL to my pull list, bringing the number of DC books on my list to 5. Good thing a new issue is out in a couple weeks. :^:

there's no backgrounds

there's just photos with some kind of filter over them, and the characters are starting to look a little weird (luke cage and the two dudes frank offs, particularly)

Didn't the same thing happen with an earlier issue, but for the Southeast? I guess it all balances out in the end!
