Basically, the idea of OSI/GCI was to keep the costumed freaks contained. The problem is that they're starting to spill over into the real world (Monstroso is a good example of this), and OSI is too concerned with their own petty squabbles and red tape to do anything about it. So the diehards took the dismantled SPHINX operation, and began doing what the OSI wasn't - reminding the costumed nutbars exactly where there place in society is.

    That was a brilliant episode.

There's only two things. One, why didn't Hunter and the grunt want to mention the Ventures around Brock but then they all sat around a table together? Wouldn't you have thought they would have hid Rusty from Brock or vice versa?

And two, hahaha at Hatred being a flat chump. 30 seconds of screen time, all pedophile jokes. Hahahaha. I am so justified.

Okay, I lied, third thing. Nooooooooooooo, 6 months or so to the next episode.

Monstroso was another character where I kept thinking of another voice (Truckules).

Truckules is a bit more... rumbly like a truck engine though. Monstroso sounds more like one of the Council of 13... and I kind of wonder if he might be, considering how well connected his company is.

This episode was great. Enough humor, enough exposition and enough intrigue to be thoroughly and enjoyably frustrating til the second half of the season picks up in the spring. There were a couple annoying inconsistencies, but most of them are minor compared to the whole Phantom Limb thing from the end of Season 1/beginning of Season 2.

Imminently quotable too, 24's ghost, Brock, and Hunter all had great lines that I am sure we are going to repeat a thousand times, and 21 had some good ones too.

I thought it was sort of cool that Shore Leave is apparently at least a one-and-a-half note character than a flat SoCal gay stereotype:
"BOOM, that's right, this is really happening."

I actually like him and I was expecting not to, so that was good.

Also I thought it hilarious that
instead of investigating the ridiculous claim on his property, Dr. Venture tries to get new tenants instead of actually coming up with some do-gooding to do.

ah well. Here's hoping the second half of season 4 is just as awesome because the first 8 episodes definitely exceeded my expectations.

What, nobody caught that even Dr. Mrs. The Monarch is getting sick of the poppets? Vindication.

Anyway, it's a little odd that Sgt. Hatred didn't get an "exit" scene. I thought for sure they were building up to one... Hatred getting more and more unhinged, OSI cutting him off, and finally he had to be restrained to keep from harming the boys. Ah well.

Dr. Mrs. The Monarch getting sick of the moppets was great because of the Monarch's reaction to it.

I wonder if she'll fire them next season and next thing we know, them and Hatred....

Oh god. I just vomited in my mouth.

Honestly guys, I don't think we're back to the Status Quo. Brock doesn't have any reason to have quit Sphinx at the moment. I think he just stopped by to say hi to the boys.

The return to his previous clothing is a bit misleading, then. I really don't think they'd go back to status quo... what with all the changes that are going on with character growth and development. He has no reason to return to the Ventures. That spot is currently filled, and I don't see anything saying that he has "completed" his purpose with sphynx. Maybe now that it's been unveiled that they're basically squatting on the compound... he'll be around more...

Well, so far, there's nothing big and impending going on. No huge threats to anyone at the moment, just a few explanations to be told. Other than that, everything is nice and happy... so the opening of the 2nd half should introduce a new "problem" or focus.

I guess the whole 24 thing could be the current plot line. I suppose we still haven't explained the hand that marked off the list.

Yeah I think it's been pretty obvious for a while that the guild and OSI are really just planing the same game.

I'm interested to see the fallout from this episode.

It looks like my earlier theory is right, S.P.H.I.N.X is doing the job that OSI is supposed to be doing.

I can't imagine OSI or the Guild will be too happy to find out that Doctor Venture of all people is hosting the rogue agency that's making them look like the incompetent LARPing putzes they are. Especially after the Guild was just made to look like idiots last season, and the OSI broke up an illegal clone farm.

Though, maybe Dean or Rusty will go all "Lord Sovereign of the Guild of Calamitous Intent" on the Guild in one sheer moment of awesomeness, and get the Guild on his side.

Which would technically make Rusty a villain if he did. Which means that Killinger was right about him all along.

I thought that was patently obvious, what with Killinger basicly going around fixing things wrong with the guild, kinda like a mediator.

Heh, that'd be pretty great and all... and I'm sure we're not done seeing Killinger... but Dean isn't the Sovereign anymore, and I doubt he has any pull with the guild. Though, if he needed it, I'm sure Bowie would oblige... what with all the intermingling that all the organizations in this show do.

Such a great episode, and a perfect way to end the half-season. It was like an anti-cliffhanger. I loved the whole thing with 24's ghost, they found a way to make the banter less creepy but still keep it ambiguous. So many great quotes from this episode. "How much were your watches? Our alarm is wayyyyy too creepy"

I really like this episode.. but I am disappointed of course that we now have to wait for new episodes. Any real word on when they will air other than a vague 6 months or so from now?

Also, I want Killinger back haha.

I would say the highlight of last night's episode was
Rusty telling the boys they were cloned. That or 21 possibly being quite insane now.

All 21 needs to do is go talk to Orpheus and find out what the deal is. I'm pretty sure it's going to be the sadder of the two options though.
