    Does Ether have an odor? Maybe he caught a faint whiff of it and it registered in his subconscious, which was then made aware to him via his hallucination of 24.

    It's not impossible that he could just assume that a mafia-type who didn't seem really trustworthy who was approaching The Monarch from behind might be packing such an object.

    But why Ether? Why not piano wire, or a gun? It was specificaly ether.

    Ether smells. I would imagine he just smelled the ether and normal putz 21 would have been too apathetic/dumb to make the connection or do anything about it.

    Well, Brock didn't use his knife and it didn't seem like he really wanted to kill him.

    I think that's because 21 actually showed some real growth. Remember that he had said "Boo" to 21 back in "Tag Sale, You're It" from the first season, and 21 ran away screaming. This time, 21 backhanded him hard enough to draw blood. While at his heart 21 may still be your usual neckbearded geek, he's now a neckbeard who, if properly motivated, can kill you with a smile.

    That's something that Brock can respect.

    For 21 to be considered clinically crazy, wouldn't his craziness have to pose a problem?

    So far, it's been pretty damn helpful.

    Another event that points to 24 being an internal manifestation of 21's inner psyche or whatever is
    when he said 'Sweet!' while Dr. Mrs. The Monarch was leaning over him.

    And Orpheus isn't going to see anything.

    I think it would be better if O saw 24 standing near 21, but not where 21 sees him.

    I have to admit I don't miss 24 so much, even leaving aside they fact he's basically in the show again anyway right now, if this is what we get in exchange.

    Or, at least, he was supposed to have blue eyes. They kind of forgot about them last season.

    It's not that his eyes are blue, its that they draw his blue eyes completely differently. And yeah, it does still strike me as weird, probably because the character hasn't been given much screen time in the new art style.

    Wait, has anyone thought that the reason maybe Dr. O won't raise 24 from the dead is because he's already haunting this place, and therefore can't resurect him? I mean it seems like 21 couldnt see him yet, but maybe Dr Orpheuous knew something he didn't.
