Is it not a bit worrying though that the Russian's were test firing a ICBM in the first place?
Why would that be worrying? Did you not know Russia had ICBMs?
If anything, it should be comforting that their ICBMs suck ass.
No no, I know they have ICBM's. They have LOTS AND LOTS of ICBM's. I just thought...well...nevermind I suppose they are likely to test fire them to make sure they work just in case "oh shit armageddon" does come.
You've read the book right? That's part of the definition.
This failed test leads me to the conclusion that were Russia to fire their load off, a percentage of their missiles would hilariously fail and fly off randomly, blowing up god knows who.
If I had seen the thing first hand, when the spiral goes black at the core I probably would have shit my pants. Because that's freaky as hell where this beautiful white spiral suddenly cracks open like a some obsidian abyss.
Be thinking that either we're about to get sucked in to this thing or one of the Old Ones is about to come out.

This is a sign from the heavens I need to go outside more.

Why are you so mad?
High fives all around!
Aka, bullshit.
If no one, ever, anywhere, has seen something like this before, why blame it on a 60 year old technology?
It just smells waay to convenient for my liking.

Sorry. My bad Kilgore Trout imitation seems to be causing confusion.
It’s not a very important country most of the time

I smell Eldar heresy at work.
60 years really isn't that long as far as discovering rare phenomena goes.
