Shelia Chelbus is still in shock after witnessing what she calls a blood bath inside this Monson home.

"There was blood everywhere, it was really bad.", says Chelbus.

Sheila who is a live in nanny at the home, says 41-year old Randall Mason attacked Blue, a 6-year old German Shepard Mix with a chainsaw, nearly severing one of its paws.
He told a judge that he saw the devil in the dog's eyes, and only attacked it in self-defense.
But Sheila says the dog was harmless, and didn't deserve to die.

"I saw randy crying and he said the dog bit him and he cut him with a chainsaw, he was drunk, but that doesn't matter.", says Chelbus.

Mason now faces 5 years in state prison, or 2 and a half years at the house of correction.
But it wasn't until 2-thousand-4 that animal cruelty laws here in Massachusettes were changed from a misdemeanor offense to a felony.

"Every organization is thrilled that this is being taken very serious. The courts and police can now penalize people for being cruel to animals, and hopefully put in end to it.", says Officer Christine Allenberg of the MSPCA.

And Officer Allenberg says more needs to be done about animal cruelty...more education and awareness.
Because she says down the road the person committing the crime could go a step further.

"It's linked that being cruel to animals could lead to being violent to humans.", adds Officer Allenberg.

Mason was held on a 10-thousand dollar bail following his arraignment yesterday, and will be back in court next month.
For Shelia, and many others, they hope he gets the maxium penalty.

"I'm working with Monson police to make sure we are doing everything that this dog will see justice.", says Allenberg.

Man, how is he gonna claim self defense with a chainsaw?

    An Axe, I can understand.

But man, who keeps their chainsaws that readily available? Does he carry it around on his back incase of dog and or zombie attack? Is it gas or electric? If its gas, he'd spend like, 10 minutes trying to start it. If electric.. Wait, are there battery operated electric chainsaws? Or is a cord required? Id imagine cord, but I cant see someone having NOT invented a battery powered chainsaw. What kind of batteries would that even take? Like, 50 D-cells?

The point is, Zombies=chainsaws, evil dogs=roundhouse kick in face. This guy obviously never saw resident evil.

[spoiler:5064bcdf76]I do not condone the use of chainsaws against zombies. You're much better off with say, a sword. Chainsaws are a horrible weapon to use.[/spoiler:5064bcdf76]

Didn't you guys read? The dog had the devil in its eyes.

This attack was entirely justified. If you don't attack devil-dogs with a chainsaw then the terrorists win.

I think somebody crazy like that should be put into a mental insitution not tossed in jail for 5 years.

I don't particularly care that he harmed the dog, it just seems to me that he probably wouldn't hesitate in doing that to a human with the "devil in his eyes".
