Also, I don't like mixing drinks in metal. I like to do as much in glass as possible. For instance, my old fashioneds, manhattans, gin martinis, etc, never touch metal. They are built over cold, large ice in a pint glass, stirred for a few minutes, and then poured with a hawthorne strainer.
So I have found that memes are even more annoying when they manifest in the audio realm.
After reading some short story my whole goddamn family spent three days saying "Goddamnit mother fucking hoss" and "you can't kill the rooster" and such over and over and over.
One of them even tried to use "mother fucking rooster" in a charades games with little kids in the room and ended up "censoring" themselves and acting out "mother" BEEP "rooster."
Fuck memes.

So apparently watching Love in the Afternoon has put me in the doghouse with both my current girlfriend and my former girlfriend.
How does this happen?
Well you go to Netflix and stream Love in the Afternoon. Get called twice during it, once by each and when they ask what you're doing answer truthfully.

I didn't realize there was warm ice. But yes, this is the way to do it. You can fit a rocks glass or a tall glass onto a mixer if you want, but if you have the resources basically any drink can be made in a pint glass.

Don't shake, gin, though. It makes it all cloudy. Don't put it in a metal mixer, either. It absorbs the taste of what it touches.
It's a combination of the botanicals in the gin (gin "bruises") and aeration caused by alcohol with oxygen. That's why you always shake drinks with fruit or egg in them -- the rich froth of a drink comes the way juice aerates when shaken.

Yeah, Vodka martinis are fine to shake. About the only thing I don't shake are drinks with gin. Also, anything with soda (soda needs to be added last (minus the drinks with the 151 on the top) for obvious reasons) but you can shake a lot of other talls because sweet/sour mix can be shaken no problem, despite the fact that 3/4 of the bars I go to don't shake my whiskey sours and they taste like cleaner as a result, muh.
