No, Skeleton is terrifying shit. It's Luge but headfirst.
if you really think about it
no crash is going to be ramming straight into anything for the luge or the skeleton
and with the luge I would imagine feeling much more exposed and vulnerable
i think starting them lower is a bit of an overreaction
the original height of this track was 499 vert feet
the height of the 2nd highest, in turin was 379 vert feet
yes?
so it's a huge step up in maximum speed, more than anyone is used to and obviously too much. The obvious solution that doesn't really take anything away from the event itself is to start it lower.
women's short track is on. it seems less exciting, since it looks like only 4 racers per heat. but still excellent! oh god, i can't stop watchign the olympics, someone help
i usually get hooked on these sporting events in a bad way, olympics, world cup, whatever. at least they only happen every few years. like i just know the world cup is gonna ruin my life this summer, and i can't wait.

It's the only time I watch soccer. To be fair, the Olympics are the only time I watch any of these sports.

id get to the ramp and then either freak out and try and stop or go right off then freak out in mid-air and cannonball into the ground
do I have a lever?

I think its the steering mechanisms that extend out the front of the sled, controlled by their legs. (I think)
I can imagine that we'd just have a constant stream of "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT I'M GONNA DIIIIIIEEEEEE"
just a really
really
fast waterslide
i've gone done a waterslide on a cart before, its p fun
yes?
everyones shouting and cheering and shit
I should probably be watching the games or something eh
they weren't letting people practice on the track before the olympics either
so you have a bunch of exposed dudes doing 90 mph on a course they have no experience with
hmmmm
I say make it as fast and high as they want to a degree as long as the proper safety measures are put in place
example: no pylons in areas where crashes might occur
that sounds like an unsmart thing to do
why would they do that?
were they banning EVERYONE or just non canadians?

The other Georgian luger did indeed drop out. I dont think anyone else did though.
probably not live, but according to the nbc schedule, they're airing women's short track speed skating later on?
mainly cause i have a week off and a big flatscreen TV and I'm living on my own and I am not used to having any of these things

except for 24 hours of Le Mans, I always try to watch as much of it as shitty streams allow me to, cause it's awesome
though the 2010 F1 season is going to be really interesting and i'm going to make an effort to catch most of the races.
Damon Hill was my boyyyyyyyy
