Also, Taylor Mays just ran a 4.24 40, faster than Chris Johnson I think.

While Chris Johnson is fast as hell, the guy is insanely good at making people miss tackles - which is his what makes him so good, I think.

Yeah, but Mays doesn't have to worry about that, as he's a DB

And Chris Johnson doesn't have to worry about Mays beating his time, as NFL Network fucked their unofficial times up badly. Official time was 4.43.

Mays is fast, but he's not good at moving his hips from what I've read.

It's good to be fast and all, but you gotta be agile to be good in coverage.

Also, Reports are that the Cardinals will release Antrel Rolle this week.

some decent draft stuff from espn's nfl blogs:

team rankings of total pick value for the first two rounds

    which is based on:

draft pick value chart that most gms use

It should be noted that that chart is kind of bullshit. Jimmy Johnson made it up in the early 90s so he could fleece other GMs in trades. As in like "Look at this chart, this is a fair trade!" when the trade was to Jimmy's advantage. He intentionally made it unfair so he could trick other people. I don't trust the draft value chart for shit.

Gave up their first last year, and first this year plus a 3rd or something last year for Cutler.

This years second for Gaines Adams.

Rams would be silly to give up much for McNabb. They're much further away from being relevant than an aging QB. They need their picks.

well obviously it's not great, but it's interesting because in general this is what a lot of gms use

Unless you're the Cubs. They pretty much have a free pass to do whatever. It's the kind of organization that every owner in professional sports is secretly jealous of.

Dude, we are logical. The thing about McNabb is, we know what he is and what he'll do. He's a great quarterback, there's no denying it. But his best years are behind him and he does the following things that make us want to punch his dick:
-On third down, either throwing to a receiver or back who's 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage hoping that he'll "make something happen" or throwing an ill-advised deep ball 3 yards past a receiver.
-Throws all of his short passes at 90 mph. Also is incapable of hitting a receiver moving side to side in stride; the passes are guaranteed to be high or low or too far in front or too far behind. He can hit a guy going up the field beautifully but never, ever a guy moving laterally.
-Runs the most lackadaisical two/four minute drill in NFL history. He'll definitely either take too much time and fail to score or score too quickly and leave time for the other team to score and win.
-Never ever takes the blame for anything. Ever. The buck stops everywhere else, nothing is ever his fault.

I could keep going but you get the idea. Bring on Kolb, I loved 5 but we're through.

frankly, looking into this a bit more, i don't buy it

using the trade chart, let's look at jimmy johnson's biggest draft day coup: the herschel walker trade

    using the chart:
minnesota gets: herschel walker, 567.75 worth of trade value points
dallas gets: 5 players, 4894.2 worth of trade value points (a lot of these were future picks, but even then, none ended up being above 12, so it's not like minnesota was just a lot worse than expected and ended up giving really high picks. there were just a shitload of them)

so even ignoring the 5 players, herschel walker would have to be worth the 1st and 9th pick in the draft for this to be even considered a wash

he certainly fleeced the vikings with this trade, but it's not like the chart makes the trade look fair. in fact it actually accentuates how bad of a trade it really was

I don't understand the Kolb love. I mean, as a Panther fan, I GET the bring on the next one idea, but y'all seem confident as hell. Over here, we're all, "Try Moore for a full season." But few (rational) people, when they get past the emotional element, want to toss out Jake entirely. What if Kolb fucking sucks?

Thing is too, the offense is totally different when someone other than McNabb is starting. There's a reason that Kolb looked great and Jeff Garcia looked great and fucking AJ Feeley looked great; Reid immediately starts running more and throwing more true West Coast style short passes when someone else is in the pocket and it works like a dream. They only call the long-pass wackier style when McNabb is back there because he demands it and Reid thinks he can do too much.
